a good low cost tent. very durable, easy setup, only problem I've had with it is that some of the metal has started to rust after 5+ years of use. one change that I would like to see is a bathtub style floor... Similar Products Used: various ems and north face tents |

I think this tent has been used more in the rain than not. It has never failed. Fast easy set-up for one person, Always dry. Very reasonable price. All the parts of it actually fit in the supplied stuff sacks. What more could you ask? The only drag is the weight. Similar Products Used: None |

Have used this SAME tent for 18 years. Camped with many friends w. different models and Timberline never dissappointed. Now many of those fellow campers have purchased Timberline 2 & 4's. Even one who works at an outfitting store. Sometimese a little cramped for two and a little heavy but will NEVER get you wet. Even stands up to significant snowfall! Try Mt. Greylock in Nov. Only repair ever was replacement zippers. Do recommend spare hubs for poles. Without them you'd be done. Great choice for the 6-8 times a year camper, no matter how aggressive the itinerary.Taken on the Adirondacks with all they had in all seasons. In the end it will have been worth the haul. Not ideal for ultra-light thru hiker, but super base camper. Customer Service Excellent service but little needed Similar Products Used: Eureka Solitaire NIce but only for appropriate applications. Very early Euereka dome, vint. 1982 which was VERY poor. Fly only went 1/2 way down creating wet mess. Most other models way too expensive for the value I could see. |

Great tent. Outr Scout troop has 25 of them. Some over ten years old. They get used at least one weekend a month by younsters who don't always take care of things nor put them up dry. Some reapir problems but over all great. Big enough to hold to grown men in realtive comfort, but would not want to spend much time in them (for sleeping only). have held up in pretty strong winds. |

I've had my Timberline for the better part of 8 years. Being that i'm only 18, it's safe to say i've grown up in my timberline. In terms of quality, the tent is well worth the $100 we payed and I have yet to encounter problems with it. I've used it everwhere from Backpacking in Alaska to various parts of California and there's little signs of wear and tear. The only problem i've had so far is some bending of the center A-frame pole...appearently, i've put to much stuff in the headnet and it's a bit heavy for the weight conscious backpacker. Great tent. Ive used several other types of tents but the Eureka Timberline is by far the most predominent in my memory. Both My father and my unkle own them and have had them for as long as I can remember. My unkles timberline is oarange if anyone can remember when they came in that color. Both tents still come out and brave the elements with the best of them. 7 pounds may seem heavy but when a tent lasts for decades it more than makes up for that short coming. And for 100 dollars what are the ods you will find many lighter self standing tents especialy one with this level of proven durability. If you want a lighter tent get a timberlite. If you feel it is crowded get the four person model. Similar Products Used: kelty, various off brands |

Absolutely fabulous tent for the money! A little on the heavy and low-tech side, but it works! Have used the same one year round in all sorts of conditions for 14 years now and still flawless! Can't tell you how many times I have crawled in it with a friend with stormclouds looming and they said ""We're gonna get soaked,"" or ""We're gonna blow away"" but we didn't. Customer Service Not too difficult to get replacement parts, but specialty parts must be ordered from factory. I recommend you get an extra set of the special little pole union joints. If you get in a hurry breaking camp and leave them on a picnic table, you will be sorely disappointed next time you try to set it up. I inherited this tent when I met my husband 8 years ago. He had already been backpacking with it for several years at that time. Together, we have camped Alaska, Norway, Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and other US adventures. We can set it up in about 2 minutes flat - important when inclement weather is imminent or upon you.
