Pretty roomy, but a tad on the heavy side. Not bad for canoe trips.

For my use this tent has proved to be outstanding. It sets up quickly, has withstood all weather conditions I've encountered. I've used it mainly as a weekend tent, but I've been very happy with it when I've used it for extended periods.

I have owned the Timberline 4 for 8 years. It has been used primarily for Boy Scout camping. It has been used in many weather conditions. I have found it to be easy to set up and take down. If you air it out after a wet session it will pack without the smell. It really only fits 3 max comfortably.(2 is better) It is still in great shape. It is not a backpacking tent, but no claims are made for that function. It is obviously too bulky and heavy. It serves my purposes well.

I used this tent at camp for years...and I hated it. It has half a million pieces to lose, poles that never stay connected, and too many strips of bungee cord that eventually stretch out or break, and only do so when you are in the backcountry. Basically, save your money for little while longer and find a tent that is really worth owning.

I have found that this tent is best for family or car camping. It is stury, easy to set up and very roomy for 2-3 adults. It would be a bit on the heavy side to use for backpacking unless it is divided among friends.

I have used this tent for the past four years in wind, rain, and snow, and I have always been protected from the elements. The only complaint I have is that in cold weather(0-30F) the rainfly shrinks and is nearly impossible to put on, but I guess that's why it's only a three season tent. I would recomend this tent to car campers, for it is too heavy for backpacking. Airing out the tent after every use and protecting the floor with a ground cloth should keep this tent alive forever.

Very light for a 4-person tent, and an excellent value. I've used mine in rain, freezing rain, wind, and snow, and I have no complaints. It's easy to set up, and as light or lighter than many MUCH more expensive 4-person, 3-4 season tents.

My Boy Scout Troop uses these for camping. They 2 man and 4 man versions. Its a good tent, but from my experience, it really sucks. It cant stand up to rain, wind, or snow. It may be spacious and cheap, but its heavy!! They dont pack down small and start to smell after minimal use. Ok tent, ok value.

This is the standard scout troop tent, and both troops I work with use them. They don't look all that sturdy to me, but they seem to hold up well year after year. Only glitch is that the zippers frequently get stuck in the fabric along the zipper. It's really hard to get it unstuck without damaging the zipper or tearing the fabric. With that exception, this is a good all around tent fairly priced and not too heavy for most uses. Good ventilation. The fly is well-designed to stay back far enough to keep the walls dry. Setup is really easy.

Our Scout Troop purchased four of these tents a couple of years ago, and they are still in excellent shape, despite use by adolescent boys. They are best used as two-man tents, as they are a bit small for 3 or 4. Although they don't have as much headroom as the Alpine Meadows, due to the lack of a center hoop, they still have plenty of floor space. In addition, they are lighter and pack smaller, which is nice for backpacking. Be sure to split up the poles, fly, and tent among three people, though. Provided they are staked out properly, they seem fairly weatherproof. I used one during a weekend when it rained for 48 hours straight, and everything inside stayed nice and dry, despite strong winds. Not the best tent around, but certainly the best for the price.
