This tent is totally bomb proof i've had it in single digit temperatures and a foot of snow and it preformed wonderfully. The price is a little high though. Similar Products Used: None |

This tent is blast-proof despite its small size. Perfect sea kayaking shelter as it is wind and water resistant beyond its size and weight. Often, we are the only dry souls of our group. It goes up in two minutes. Starlet is just brilliantly thought out with strong materials and great attention to detail. Thinking of getting a second one as it outperforms our heavier 4 season tent. I cannot think of one thing negative to say of this tent. |

My Dad picked this up great tent sometime around 1988. Just spent a night on the snow overlooking Mount Baker this past weekend. After 10+ years of use, 3 trips across the United States, and numerous 4-day outings she is still going strong. I'm not sure what my dad spent on the Startlet, back in the day. But I think it's well worth the price, i'm in the market to get another Moss for myself now! :-) ---> see you on the trail! Customer Service Just found Moss's web site, going to get her all tuned-up after 10 years, there are some small holes in the mesh (might have been my dad's smoking habit). They seem like great people, i'm waiting to hear back from them. Similar Products Used: None |

Had my starlet since '89. Great tent, well made and bobmproof. Vestibule is a litte small. When will manufacturers figure out that a large storage area is important for packs, boots, stove, etc? Similar Products Used: northface oval intention sierra designs astro cd |

Have had the Starlet since 1988 also. I wish every piece of gear was designed this well. Have used it extensively in the US and Europe and for a while was using it every week-end in both sumer and winter. Have had it in very high winds and some of my friends 4 season tents were shaking and bowing. This one was like a rock. Totally weatherproof. Went out and bought a 4-season Moss tent for heavy snowfall althgough I bet the Starlet would hold up nicely in anytjing but a major blizzard. Note: 1999 is the final year for production of the Starlet so I recommend snapping one up while you can find one. I'm thinking of buying one more. Similar Products Used: None |

Weakness:
None My Starlet was one of the first ones made. I bought it at the Moss factory outlet in Camden, Maine around ''81 or ''82. Mine had the solid pole sleeves instead of clips and the fly ended at the top of the door with no vestibule. I just retired it this summer after 20 years, as the coating finally went out on the fly and sidewalls. I used it as a solo tent, and would not recommend it for two unless you are very good friends. The tent was stable in wind, kept out the rain of a monsoon, and was fairly easy to set up. Probably better now with the clips. Good headroom, space to pack up the pad and bag, and fairly good ventilation. Very few non-winter tents had vestibules back then, so I never missed the lack of one. With one person, there was room inside for boots and clothing. The fact that I used the Starlet for two decades even after the market introduced lighter tents says it all.
