This is a great (but heavy) tent. We have used it in some remote areas in northern Canada and it has proven to be bulletproof in the wind and rain.
The odd shape continues to make it interesting to set up, and to get out of. I still find myself confused by the layout (the tent is a pentagon, and the fly is a hexagon overtop of it.
I love the windows for checking the weather and to see if grizzly attacks are imminent. It is really spacious, tons of room for all our gear in the vestibule, and plenty of room for 3 inside and a dog in the vestibule - although the dog has decided that she will squeeze herself into the foot section of the tent instead.

Not cheap, not light. Everything else is great!

Awsome tent! The quality of materials and construction is second to none. I have been using this tent with my family for 3 years now, and at no time have I been unhappy with it. We have weathered some huge storms (snow and rain) without any problems. The tent is very roomy and the vestibule is huge. Set up is not as easy as more traditionally shaped tents, and the odd shape can make it more difficult to find good tent sites...minor problems! There are quite a few comments about this tent being on the heavy side. This may be true if it were a 3 season tent, but not for a convertable tent that is both storm worthy and well ventilated (a rare combo).

Outstanding head turning tent. Although we only now seem to do car camping since the wee ones arrived, this tent gives us great pleasure. The build quality is excellent, easy to pitch (greatful in a downpour) and withstands the inclement British and European weather from Scottish hailstorms to French Mistrals. The UVX windows and volumous lobby are a great asset. The interior easily sleeps the whole family with gear (numbering 5 with the toddler and baby twins). Look forward to returning to N Zed with the family with this tent.

Customer Service

Excellent from the shop and distributer when we had to get some additionalaccessories and replacement parts.

What can I say that hasn''t already been said about this excellent shelter. Survived a high Pyrennian storm and an encounter with the French Mistral without any bother. Windows were an added bonus for those clear mtn star gazing. Fast to erect, which was a bonus on location in our uncertain British Autumn climes and plenty of space to accommodate 2 adults, gear and an active 4 year old. Would highly recommend it to other family campers but be mindful of the sharp serrated tops to the alu pegs when barefoot (ouch !).

Customer Service

Some pegs and clips missing, Mtn Hdwr agent replaced them by next day post, no problems with build quality as yet.

I bought this tent a couple years ago at the suggestion of the salesperson and I have not been disapointed. Although a bit heavy for backpacking, it has a lot of room for the wife and kids (put a Bernese Mountain Dog in it as well) The construction is top notch and it is pretty easy to set up. Ventilation is excellent.

Room for everyone! This tent is ENORMOUS inside.
You can lay down in nearly any direction without touching the walls. The large zip out ceiling panel provides excellent ventilation and view.

Nature-Resistant construction includes taught pitch floor to wall seams, interior guying system (which actually made a tremendous difference on Mount Washington), multiple pole crossovers (read; lots 'o strength).

Dislikes: You are not going to like this tent if light is on your mind. It will take some serious trade-offs with other stuff to make you happy to hump this tent any distance or vertical gain. (Echo: 5 stars if this tent were lighter)

Overall:
I love this tent! It is THE choice for two or three. If you are thinking of getting one, make sure that you go to a store and have them set it up so that you see if you need/want this much room!

If you're looking for an Alpine castle this is it. My first night in use began in a heavy rain storm that turned into a hail storm with 40 mph winds all night long. I woke up bone dry, well rested and comfortable with ALL of my gear and girlfriend inside. Construction is bullet-proof. Ventilation is excellent. Looks wise it is one serious/professional looking tent. Some will argue it's a bit big and heavy for backpacking. I say: ""Hell on the trail is heaven in the camp"". This tent is a slice of heaven.

Excellent design and highest quality of construction. A very roomy tent. Heavy for 2 people but depends on what you're willing to trade for comfort. Great and very efficient for 3. Huge vestibule for pack or canine companion. Free standing but really need 2-3 pegs to set up with the vestibule. I would have given it 5 stars if it were only 2 pounds lighter. Sigh.

This is a great tent. I bought this tent last year and used it twice a month all summer long and it's a great versatile tent. The first time I used it, it was in the Yosemite valley and it was very cold the first night, but this tent kept me warm and dry. Ventilation is excellent and the tent looks great. Also very easy to install.

I bought this tent with no real idea what I would use it for. I just liked it. It was roomy enough for car camping and small enough to back pack with. It has seen alot of use. My only complaint is that the fly leaks at the center seam. The seam crosses a pole. It seems like a design flaw. Mountain Hardware suggested sealing the seam which helps but has not cured this problem.

Customer Service

Mountain Hardware responed to my complaint by suggesting I seal all the seams. They told me instructions and seam sealer were included with the tent.
