nice tent, holds up well in strong winds, is on the heavy side but for a 4+ season what do you expect?

I only have one complaint about this tent. Its weight. It is a very roomy tent, especially for two. It will stand up to just about anything you can throw at it. The clip system sets up in a breeze and the window allows a nice look around on those dreary weather days. It just weighs a little bit much for me to call it perfect.

This is a great tent especially for the winter. It's very sturdy in the wind and provides great room for two people. The double vestibule allows plenty of space for gear and other stuff. The tent is a bit heavy, but for the quality of the tent it's worth it.

Great tent - only complaint is that the rainfly zipper for the rear entryway isn't protected from the outside, so it ices up durning ice storms

Overall an excellent buy. The only complaint I have is that it gets way too warm in a reflective glacier setting - I spent 5 nights in it at Concordia near the base camp of K2 and the tent's interior temperatures in the afternoon approached 38+ degrees centigrade which on a still day can be overbearing. However, gale force Karakoram winds at night failed to budge the tent! A must for any extended trek/climb in hotile environments.

This tent has given me no problems. There is plenty of room for two people and enough room for gear. My only complaint is that I wish that it were lighter. It has kept me safe and dry in a couple of nasty storms, and set up is fairly uncomplicated.

Customer Service

Out of my own stupiduty I had to replace a couple of stakes, and the Mountain Hardwear people were friendly and very helpful.

This tent performed very good in the snow. It keeps me safe and worry free during snow storms. I reccomend this tent to anyone who wants a four season tent.

Survived incredibly high winds with only a bent pole. mixed feelings on the double clip thing though- jerry-rigged sierradesigns style elastic lashings for extra support-work pretty good. It's heavy because it's made well.

Just returned two weeks ago from a Mt. Hood trip and we used one of these and one of the Trango 3.1's. Around 4 in the afternoon a storm began and within 2-3 hours both tents had broken poles and were flat on the ground. Not sure how another brand would have done and hope to never be in the position again to find out.

I have a MH Muir and have been very happy with it, and was shocked to lose these shelters so quickly. The winds were estimated by the Mountain rescue as 60-70mph winds with 100+ gust. Maybe I'm being unreasonable to have expected the shelter to hold up. From everything I've read sleeved poles are the way to go because the load is spread out over a larger area and now I believe it. I no longer have any confidence in hooks.

I only gave it a 3 in overall because I think that the design should be better for a tent that cost as much as this one. By the way it was guyed out and we had built snow walls of about 18 -24 ins high.

Customer Service

Not yet. I hear nothing but good stories though.
