Mountain Hardwear Tri-Light 1 Tents

Mountain Hardwear Tri-Light 1 Tents

DESCRIPTION

A superlight, freestanding, three-pole tent for one--mesh door, plus mesh ceiling and rear panels provide abundant ventilation and views. Full-coverage, factory-taped nylon rainfly is non-stretch, UV-resistant, lightweight and features waterproof zippers. UVX windows in rainfly and large vestibule provide a skylight effect when the weather is not so good. Catenary-cut seams provide a taut pitch; off-ground perimeter seam and factory-taped floor seam protect against weather penetration. Carefully constructed with back-tacked stress points, locking pole tips and bias-bound zippers. Natural rubber shockcord remains resilient in extreme temperatures;. D-shaped doors stay off ground; large pockets and hang loops make inside organization easy. Stake out loops are large enough for skis and pickets; non-wicking grommet tabs have adjustable buckles.

I was looking for the lightest, free standing tent with good interior space. This tent fit the bill. The $325 list price of course was outrageous but at $65 less it was a little more attractive. The tent is 4 lbs. with 3 stakes and the stuff sacks. There's a fast pack variation with just the footprint, fly and poles at 2 pounds. The quality is excellent. Good weather protection/light weight. Great little tent (nice & light one-person that is freestanding!). The only downside was the fact that it was hard to turn around inside the tent after entry. Decided to deal with the extra (minute) weight and upgraded the the Tri-Light 2 (as a two person version, there was plenty of space to deal with that issue).
