I HAVE HAD MY VIPER FOR 4 YEARS, AND LOVE IT! I WAS IN A SNOW STORM WHERE 2 FT OF SNOW DROPPED AND THE TENT HELD UP FINE. I WAS ALSO THE ONLY DRY PERSON ON A BACKPACKING TRIP GONE WET. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FOOTPRINT FOR THE VIPER, SOME 6MM PLASTIC FROM ANY HARDWARE STORE WORKS GREAT, JUST SET UP YOUR TENT AND DRAW AROUND IT WITH A SHARPIE AND CUT IT OUT. IT WILL EVEN FIT IN THE STUFF SACK WITH THE TENT.

This is for those of you who are seeking replacement poles for Quest tents. I don't have their e-mail, but I do have their Canadian phone number. It is possible to order poles from them.

It is:(905)625-8470.

I have two Quest models that are no longer in production. The Sundancer is the best tent that I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of tents.

I have had my Viper for about five years now and I love it. It is very comfortable for 2 people (I am 6'1") and could fit 3 VERY good friends if you had to. I have only had trouble with the tent in EXTREME driving rain where a mist actually made it through the fly and the tent but not enough moisture to cause problems (I think ANY tent would have leaked). I had to modify the tent a little by adding some 3 mm cord opposite the doors to keep the fly off the tent body in wet conditions. Other than that minor flaw I really like the tent and have used it mostly for car camping (climbing trips) but also for some week long hikes in the Grand Canyon. A great buy for the money.

I have two quest tents and have been very pleased with them. But this weekend after returning home setting up tents to dry out completely a freak wind blew and one of the "poles" was bent and broke when the tent started rolling away. Does anyone know how I can get a replacement pole? Does anyone have Quest's direct web address? Thanks for any help!

My wife and I bought this tent in 98, then hit the trails. We hiked a good part of the Appalachian Tral (great trip you have to try it some time before you leave this beautiful earth, keep are lands pure!), across Virginia. The Tent has no fear on top in the wind, or in the trees with the rain. Our only draw backs of a fiew weeks per trip every summer sence are. Is there was only one vestabule pole. With the nicely placed doors, another set of poles for the other door would be great, a foot print would also be a good thing. I've camped all over the US with no problems. Great, tent still going strong these days! If any one knows the site for Quest? I would like to get another set of poles to replace some bent ones and, a foot print if they make one.
Thanks,
Brian Drap

I just returned from a climb on mount Shasta.Me and a friend set up the viper in 70 m.p.h. winds. It held up under these conditions including 100 m.p.h. gusts. The only drawback was the rainfly.Difficult to put on under extreme conditions. And the fabric arond the guy lines tore. But didnt break. In all fairness no tent would have faired much better.Excellent tent

The tent is actually fits 2~3 people comfortable. I'm 5'6" so I can fit more people/gear in the tent. The only problems I have with the tent are the side hubs that connect the frame to the tent, they're made of plastic (I'm looking for a replacement but can't seem to find any place that sells them, and I lost the manufacturer's card with phone #'s). . It's only attacted by velcro strips. Also being a 6lb tents, it gets heavy if you carry it by yourself, but backpacking with another person, you can split the tent into pieces easily. Although the it's a 4 season tent, it doesn't handle snow very well. I use it mostly for 3 season backpacking. If you're looking for a 2-man 3-season tent, this one will do a good job. The fly isn't tape sealed so you'll have to do your own seam sealing.

I have only had the chance to see this tent by Quest, called: North Design which is used for 6 persons. It seems to be a very reliable tent for camping.

Customer Service

I like to know more about Quest tents. You have provided only three typs from this manufacturer. But, during my camping recently, I have seen a tent(for 6 persons) by Quest called: North Design. I am interested in this tent. Please send me an e-mail with complete description.

Thank You kindly,

Abe Malek
