Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent Tents

Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight CD Tent Tents

DESCRIPTION

This tent's light weight and super compact size makes it ideal for packing along on cycling, hiking or paddling adventures. Cam-Loc(TM) system and DAC Featherlite(R) poles combine to provide an extra boost of strength and rigidity. Two-pole design ensures swift setup and allows ventilation between breathable tent body and waterproof rainfly. Full-coverage rainfly has integral vestibule to provide gear storage out of the rain. Mesh panels along the full length of the tent and at the door and rear window provide extra ventilation. Optic white tent canopy allows increased light transmission for a brighter living space. Sewn-in floor stays taut to provide maximum usable space; heavy-duty polyurethane coating and factory-taped main floor seam keep out water. Reflective guyout loops allow night visibility; reflective, noiseless zipper pulls are easy to see and eliminate that annoying jingle when it's windy. Non-wicking stake loops and fly attachments keep tent drier. Pockets on interior are waterproof towards the outside of the sidewall with mesh inside; your stuff stays dry and visible.

Strength:

With light weight and easy to carry. This is an advantage that everyone likes. In addition, there are Dynamons World and the ability to cover rain and sun quite well.

Weakness:

With high winds, it may be easily shaken.

Strength:

A fantastic tent, indeed! Extremely water-resistant. I was out in the storm where there was hail, gusts of 40 miles per hour, and a deluge of rain, and not a drop of water made it inside. I can't say enough good things about this tent and would highly recommend it. monkey mart

The last couple of years I have been getting into backpacking and have been slowly acquiring quality gear and this is the first quality tent I have owned. I purchased it for solo trips and occasional trips with my son. I have used it on a few overnights and weekends in the Texas Hill Country. The interior is fine for myself and adequate with my son, however, the interior is a little snug with another adult unless you know them real well. It might be a little claustrophobic if the rain keeps you indoors for a long period of time. The tent did keep me dry in a rain shower, although the zipper seam on the fly did have an occasional drip. The tent packs really small and is pretty light. I bought the floor saver and have used the tent without the tent body (fly and floor saver only) and it worked pretty well, except for a few mosquitoes who sniffed me out. When loading my pack, I strap the poles to the outside of my pack with my fishing rod. I did have to add some extra stakes and guylines for the fly as there weren't enough to go around with all of the guypoints. Overall, I have been pleased with my purchase, especially for the money. The tent is well built, lightweight, and a perfect size for backpacking. Durability seems to good to this point. I don't have a lot of experience with other brand tents, but I am very pleased with the Clip Flashlight. The tent is good, but not as good as the ArcTeryxx Bora 80.

This is a great summer tent although if you are unfortunate enough to have to camp in an emergency, staking it out can be a problem. When the tent is not staked out in optimal conditions, you (obviously) get massive condensation problems. I found this tent to be fine for 2 six foot people (anybody over six feet will have trouble) - but I don't have a problem sleeping that close to someone else. A great tent if you're backpacking in known conditions! However, I need a freestanding tent for those conditions that are not so great - and for a similar price I'm going to go with the REI Clipper. A little heavier - but it has so many more features and a mesh skyview!

Customer Service

REI is fantastic.

I've got last years model (2001) of this tent, only difference being I don't have the pocket door... oh tragedy. It's an awesome tent, light, easy to set up, and surprsingly stable. The listed weight is a little misleading, the tent only comes with 9 of 15 stakes. So if you intend to set it up fully (body, fly, & guy) it's gonna come in at just under 5 lbs. Still not bad. With only two poles and clips, setup is virtualy dumbass proof, and takes no time. I had this tent at 14000 feet and it stood strong against 50+ mph winds all night. There was ample room for myelf and gear, however any second person I'd be sleeping with would have to be an attractive female. In the event you do cram two people in, the vestibule is big enough only for cooking or storing one pack, so you may find your gear to be $h!t outa' luck. Good tent, stable, fast setup, and light, and cheaper than MHW Approach ($315).

Haven''t had mine out in the rain yet, but it has been out in 50MPH winds. No problems. Very easy to set up. Very stable in winds if you guy it out. Don''t skimp on using the stakes and guys. Better for one person than two if you like to bring your pack and gear into the tent. New color lets light in well. Very lightweight. Great product.
