This Comet CD was one of the finest puchases my wife and I have ever made in outdoor gear. The tent is light in weight, roomy, and very strong. We were able to pitch the tent within 5 minutes. The ground ""footprint"" is highly advisable to aquire with the tent..go ahead, get it !! This will protect the bottom of your investment for a long time to come. If you seal your seems from the inside out as recommended, you should have no problems with leaks (we had only minor problems due to my inexperience in sealing seams!!). You will have room enough for two (with some gear), or three with no gear. Head room is excellent, with walls fairly vertical....excellent design for optimal use of space. This one is a WINNER !! Customer Service Customer service is par-excellance ! I ran out of my sealant for the seams, called the service rep and she sent out a new tube at no cost !! Nice touch Sierra Designs, you guys are first rate. Similar Products Used: None |

I purchased the older model Comet with one door and like the other reviewers found that in moderate climates the inside heats up considerably. Would probably be more comfortable in fall weather or late spring. Customer Service Very easy to deal with . Provided a free tube of sealant when I called their customer service. Nice tent. Roomy enough for 4. However, lots of condensation builds up on the sides so person sleeping next to the walls seem to wake up with soaked sleeping bags. |

Roomy and well designed. Simple setup and I love that it's free-standing. Actually comfortable for three with good vestibule space and excellent headroom. Very good weight/space ratio. Around eight pounds for a legit 50 sq. ft. My only complaint is the poor ventilation, surprising since there's so much mesh in the ceiling. But apparently the sleeve (as opposed to clip) design prevents air from circulating over those panels. Exhalation and body heat from three adults overwhelms and has made this an oven in Costa Rica and Florida Keys. Without the fly, the mesh ceiling is wonderful for stargazing. I'm sending it to Rainy Pass in Seattle to add ventilation, but otherwise a wonderful tent. Probably perfect in cooler climates. Similar Products Used: Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight |

I purchased this tent through REI-Outlet.com for $199 and spent an additional $58 dollars for a groundcloth, and gear loft. I am very happy with the size of this tent, I really believe that this is a great tent for two normal size people and one small person/child, unless you are used to being close... The only downside for me on this tent is its ability to hold in heat, I would like to have had more vents to creat a cross breeze. Overall this tent is a good value. Similar Products Used: None |
