Overall I love this tent. It has held up well and weighs just over 3 pounds. The only thing that needs to be changed is a little more vestibule space and the fly needs to be closer the the ground to keep things from getting damp. I have used this tent a lot in the smokies and some on the lower portions of the AT. For the price to wieght ratio, it cant be beat.

I LOVE THIS TENT! It has served me very well in many backpacking situations, from the wet Cascades in Oregon and Washington, the Rockies in Colorado, and mesquite desert in Texas. I have had no problems with the tent in the 3 years I've owned it. I am 5ft-9 and it fits me well. The only thing I would change is have a longer rain-fly, and a little bit larger vestibule.

Bought newer-model ground-cloth (which i recomend buying) that the clips didn't fit, so I sent it in and they replaced the clips quickly and for no extra cost.

ok first off i want to say that this is a perfect one man tent, good ventilation, good weight, enough space that i can sit up and change my clothing in and very weather proof (as good as a hoop tent can be) the only time that i have had any condensation at all was when i slid down to far in a down bag and blocked the screen at the foot of the tent. i have had this tent out for anything from ultra lite fast packs, to week long solo trips above 10,000+ ft. i have been snowed on (8 inches of heavy spring snow) rained on, hailed on, plenty of heavy wind above tree line in the uintas (up to 13,000+ feet) and this thing hasent ever let me down. the ultra lite is only a few oz. lighter and that comes from the carbon poles and the shortened steak loops i say save the cash and get a case of moosehead!! all in all i think that this is a great tent for the $$$ and i dont see much that could improve it. so go get one and see the (ultra) lite!!!

I bought this tent last year to take when I went backpacking with the guys, or alone. I like this tent. It is like my clip 3 except smaller, a lot smaller. It has all the room I need for a good nights sleep. I can set up in it and I dont feel crowded. I am 5''''9" tall and weigh 240lbs.it has all the qualities of the clip flashlight. the thing I like the best is it only weights a little over 3lbs. not bad for a comfortable tent. It has plenty of room for me and my gear. I store my gregory shasta pack In the vestibule with no problems. I can put all my gear from my pack in the front of the tent next to my head. All of my Gear is out of the weather. As far as the space Inside of the tent I have all the room I need for one person. The vestibule Stores my pack just fine. All in all I have to say that this is a great one man tent Lightweight and all the storage space you need. The biggest asset is its lightness and its roominess. I couldn''''t stand a bivy sack. this is a tent to take on an AT through hike. True this is not a tent you would like to spend your days in but it is all you need for sleeping the night away.

This is a great little solo tent. For reliable, weatherproof, three-season use where fast traveling is key. I''ve used this tent above 10,000 feet in wind/rain/hail storms and never has it leaked (even before I seam-sealed it). Set up is easy and it offers plenty of head room and storage space for the average person (I''m 5'' 9'''' 160 lbs). And it doesn''t feel like you''re sleeping in a coffin. Nice job SD.

The tent is light, easy to set up, and well ventilated. It is not roomy enough to live in, but of course it is not designed for the kind of trip that requires spending lots of time in your tent. You really need at least 5 stakes if you are using the fly - 2 for the tent itself and 3 for the fly. The tent is very well suited for its purpose: a 3-season tent for 1 person, where light weight is a prime consideration.

After the third outing with this tent, one of the shock-cords came out. Sierra Designs had a replacement to me in less than a week. Excellent service!

This is a decent solo tent for the money. I like the new green color and the tent has very good ventilation. I seam sealed the fly and it was worth the time. I got into a real good down pour and stayed dry. Two stakes are all it takes for the tent body. I did not like the fact that my full length sleeping pad was against the sides of the tent near the front. I wonder if it will wear the side of the tent creating a hole eventually. If one uses a 3/4 length sleeping pad this would not matter. I like my Mountain Hardwear Solitude solo tent better but that might be because it seems to have more room for my 6'1" frame.

This is a great one person tent.Set up is easy. The fly worked in my first rain storm.No room for my backpack which I kept outside with a rain cover.I can sit up in this tent and read a book. (I'm 5'11")
Only two stakes needed for the tent but a few more for the fly which needs to be very tight. My previous tent was Walrus Star-Lite which is heavier but can sleep two people intimately. I liked being able to hold up part of the fly with my treking pole (or any convenient stick)and allow for more ventilation. I only used it for two nights.
