A great tent. Excellent ventilation for warmer weather with plenty of extras for convienance. Rain fly is perfect with non-obscured viewing thru window. Not much vestibule space but with all the pluses its not a great disadvantage. Similar Products Used: Kelty Tents |

This is a great tent. So much space for such little weight. You can use it year round, but it is probably at its best in the fall and spring. The vestibule should be larger, otherwise it is almost perfect. So light, yet so roomy. Similar Products Used: None |

Great tent. I've had mine for 4 years now and while I haven't spent as much time in it as I'd like, the times I have spent have been unusually comfortable for sleeping in a tent. Great ventilation. The internal guys make this one of the sturdiest tents I've tried. Light for the space. The vestibule is too small. Backpacker says they're coming out with the Lookout 2.0 with 2 vestibules (and 2 doors?). It's heavier though by almost a pound. Room enough for 2 adults and 2 large (100 pound) dogs, 3 adults would have to be good friends. If the new version is as good as this one BUY THIS TENT! Great tent, I just got it this Decemberr so all I've been able to do is some winter camping. Spent 3 nights on a frozen lake up north and a few hike in hike out trips in the snow. Easy setup. No problem holding up to a load of snow. (had to dig out my friend in his dome tent that morning). Vestibule a little small. Picked it up as a demo tent from a local outdoor store. The owner used it for a few months than sold it to me for a great price. But heh the lifetime warrenty is still good. So go and buy this great tent. |

I have had my lookout for about 7 years and it is one of the best investments I have made. It stayed dry in a three day deluge of rain on a fishing trip in the rockies, stood up to gale force winds in pacific rim national park and withstood unexpected snow storms in the foothills of Alberta. It is also one of the few tents that fits my 6'3"" frame with room left over. My only complaint is the small vestibule. And now it seems Sierra designs has discontinued it, what a shame. I originally bought this tent for winter camping and car camping. Length is okay, but I thought it was extremely clausterphobic (sic). The side door sucks. Having your buddy or even a hot mama crawl over you in the middle of the night for a pee session really stinks. Vestibule is small. I recommend front entry tents only or give em a back door with a mini vestibule. Weight is decent and construction is high qual. Customer Service Excellent, but cocky. Similar Products Used: None |

I love this tent. I have had it for almost 4 years with no real problems. As others have mentioned, it handles a wide range of situations very well. One situation which I would like to test it in is heavy rain. I do not know how well it would perform yet but mine is sealed very well. It fairly light, very strong for it's light construction, and just roomy enough. I did have a thin spot wear on the upper tent fabric and will see if Sierra Designs can fix it. I recommend this tent to anyone who is concerned about weight and hardiness. Customer Service Two thumbs up. Similar Products Used: None |

Excellent construction, easy set up and I love the convertible aspect of the tent (roof vent). And plenty of room for a 6'3"" person. Only two drawbacks 1. Side entry, not easy to climb over someone 2. Vestibule is too small. Similar Products Used: None |

I have had this tent a little over a year. Im a 15 year old in boy scouts and we are very active. This tent has been on about 30 weekend camp outs and is going over the rocky mountains with me on an 8 day backpack. I have tested my tent in heavy rain. In fact, it was so heavy, i had to grab the tent and carry it down the basement because the tornado siren went off. Anyway, the only thing(s) i recommend for this tent are 1) seam seal it 2) if you do a lot of extreme weather camping, invest a few bucks in the internal stay lines. Other than that, enjoy your tent!
