None I have used this tent exclusively for Winter camping. I have had it out for four trips totaling less than 20 days in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. Temperatures did drop 25-30 below O°F. Tent does frst up a bit on inside and poles did lose some tension in shock chords. Other than this tent performed well. Sheds snow nicely, but it has not been exposed to great wind. Plenty of room inside for gear and two people. In my case once again it is 100lb German Shepherd. Can''t get any humans to go out in Winter. Tent color nice during long Winter night with candle light .Got it on sale in, I think in 1996. Good deal at time. Similar Products Used: For Winter, None |

I have used this tent on several occations. From Tennesse to Canada. And i even used it on a ice covered lake and on a ice/snow covered ledge in the adirondacks(just to see how it would stant up). It has also held up to Gale force winds. It is kind of expensive. But it is from The North Face. Well worth the money. Its very roomy for 2 people and it is kinda cramped for 3 people and gear. I purchased the Expedition from Campmor in late 1994 and didn't get to use it until late winter/early spring 1995. I use the Ex25 NF footprint and gear loft. I have recently purchased Sierra Designs internal guy lines (great accessory) for added support but have yet to need them. Customer Service I have never had to deal with customer service for the tent, thankfully! I'd hate to have to pay for shipping this beast. Similar Products Used: None |

Very strong tent, stands up in the worst weather. I actually had over a foot of snow load, and it did not collapse. For those of you that had problems with the shock-cord freezing and loosing elasaticity, TNF has fixed the problem. I lived in this tent for over a month, and there was enough room for 2 of us to move around and not drive each other crazy during the long storm days in Alaska. Thsi is a tent that I have felt "safe" in on big mountains in storms. Properly guide-out, this tent is a great shelter! Customer Service Minor rain fly repair cost nothing, TNF took care of it. Great repair turn-around. Similar Products Used: Dana Designs Kaja, TNF Mountain Tent, REI Geo Mtn 2, Sierra Designs Aurora. |

What a piece of junk! Cheap foreign materials + Chinese labor = K-mart quality tent at a premium price. The tent is great at the KOA but fails miserably when used in conditions it was supposedly built for (ie "arctic expeditions"...). At just -20C the cheap Chinese bungie in the poles loses all elasticity and has to be gingerly stuffed back into the poles. This is impossible with gloved hands or in high wind. Oh and the cheap nylon exterior shrinks so badly that even if you get the poles together the tent is so tight that the poles have to be permanently bent into place. Note: the US made materials in the old Garuda Kaja are not similarly affected and the tent goes up as easily at -45C as 0C. Customer Service TNF customer service told me to "virgorously stretch the bungie until it warms itself by internal friction".... They refused to address any of the tent's flaws or to repair/replace the product. Thankfully REI has a generous return policy. Similar Products Used: Garuda (now Dana Designs) Kaja |

THis is a great 4 Season tent. I have had it to the white mountains in New Hampshire and in the Adirondaks in the dead of winter. Fully guyed out this tent could survive a monsoon. A little heavy but its worth the extra weight. Its like a condo for two and a sardine can for three. I have used it in a few times in summer just for the hell of it and found it to be stuffy but not unbearable with both door windows open Customer Service Customer service can sometimes be slow but you get what you want in the long run. This tent most certainly lives up to its billing as a bombproof shelter. It handles wind, rain, and snow without so much as a wimper. As you might expect, its a great cold weather tent, keeping everyone warm, dry and happy, but it does suffer in warmer weather. The two small circular doors limit ventilation quite significantly, but hey, its not meant to be a summer-in -South America kind of tent. It does one thing and does it well. Its fabulously wind stable easily accommodates two plus gear. For three people its snug but doable, and I even squeezed four in overnight during a heavy winter storm and it was even reasonable liveable, if not overly comfortable. Overall, an excellent investment that I expect will last near a lifetime. Customer Service A pole bent and was promply replaced with little question. A Bombproof tent. No doubt about it. At 8000 feet in Glacier NP this january it held up strong for four straight days of SEVERE wind (the gusts were strong enough to blow us off our feet) and snow, while we sat inside and played cards. Not that heavy for two, but a luxury accomodation in any winter weather. The tent is not made for short, light trips (although still not too bad), but for longer trips where a base camp is used. Tents are expensive, but I got this tent for $299 out of STP, so shopping around is key. Similar Products Used: Mountain Hardwear Expedition wedge SW |

TNF Expedition 25 is a well built tent but I don't like to use it for most of the stuff I do. I prefer a lighter mountain tent or four season tent. It is too much weight for 2 people and that is all it can really fit. TNF advertised it to be a 3 person tent but later changed it to a 2 person tent. I used it in the White Mountains with one other buddy between New Years and Christmas and will use a different tent next time. Oh yeah the sides buckle down a lot when there are high winds, and the tent is noisy. We are returning to the presidentials in the White Mountains and I think my buddy and I will use TNF Mountain tent this time! Customer Service No service needed!
