I prefer a tent with space. I have a source that I can buy the North Face Roadrunner 2 tent for $179, but with the price difference and smaller size, and weight, I went with the Pebble. It packs smaller, weighs less, and has remained wet-free so far. I always put the fly up and guy it out, cause I've learned my lesson about rain and wind. It can always hit, especially at 3 in the morning. Better to be safe than sorry; plus, the fly gives one person some weather-free cooking space. As far as I'm concerned, this is the perfect tent for one person who can deal with a couple extra pounds.

I bought this tent at a TNF outlet store before they went into production, so mine may be a bit different from the retail version. This is an excellent 3 season tent. Lightweight, decent headroom and a good size vestibule, given the small size of the tent. Enough tie-outs to keep it stable in heavy winds. I had this tent up at 13,000 ft. in the sierras during a pretty wild storm and the tent did great. It packs small, weighs about 5lbs, sets up quickly and easily. Nice for stargazing or add the fly for pretty good protection from wind and rain.

Customer Service

Never used it.

I'm just getting back into camping, so I picked this up at Campmor. I love this tent! Yes, it's simple and not very flashy, but it's a no-gimmicks, minimalist kind of design for it's size, and that's exactly what I like. It's currently out of production (supposedly), but Campmor still has them, and as of this writing for only $99! This is a deal, no lie... The quality is quite good...I expect it to last a long time. Ventilation is very good with the fly on when you fully guy out the fly. Without the fly, it's starry, starry night. I've used it in light to medium rain with no problems. I had some moisture collect on the underside of the fly in 45° night temps, but it was in humid Wisconsin and way below the dew point. I can find no fault with this tent. It's got great headroom and is roomy for one, tight for two. It's about 5lbs, 4oz packed. But really, for $99 bucks (now) this is an awesome buy, considering it originally retailed for $240. I love this tent!

Customer Service

Haven't used TNF customer service in 18 years...it was great back then.

This is the first tent I have ever owned but because of all the research I did, especially on this site, I believe I can say fairly that it is a great entry level tent. Kept us dry except for a bit of condensation that should be avoidable with better guying of the rain fly. Vestuble is good sized and plenty of headroom in the tent body. The "back" of the tent is a bit narrow for two sleeping pads. Zippers are not the greatest but are not horrible either. I do highly recommend lubing them up before the first use as well as seam seeling just to be safe.

Customer Service

Have not needed them.

Me and a buddy of mine both bought one of these and the next weekend sent four days in the Rain forest just west of Seattle. Boy did it ever RAIN! It rained so hard we could not even see across a small feild, but inside we never even got a bit of gear wet! The best tent I''ve been in while camping in the Great Wet NorthWest.

Almost Identical to a tent I bought in 96 that one brought me through 2 yrs of rocky Mountains and the entire AT. I am so happy North Face has made a replacement. This one is lighter by 3 lbs too! Design is pretty bomb proof. Price was steep but I should have shopped around.

This is a nice little tent for the price. I have used it several times since I purchased it a few months ago. I found that when you tighten down the fly good and tight the two front poles bow inward allowing the body to touch the fly. To eliminate this problem use the two side loops in the front for adjustable guylines to pull the poles outward. The living space isnt too wide or long but has great head room and steep walls. The vestibule is farely large for such a small tent but you still may want to keep your packs outside. Recently I had the tent out in some chilly weather and there wasnt one drop of condensation inside the tent it all migrated to the rainfly. The only downfall I had was a small hole in the floor which is my fault but I would make or purchase a footprint. All and all this is a great tent and I would recomend it to anyone.

I bought this tent to replace another summer tent. It's fairly light but more like 5 pounds packed. I put the tent and fly in a small compression sack and pack it with my sleeping bag in the lower compartment of my pack and place the poles seperate in the upper part of my pack. Tent carries better this way. It breathes well and pitches quickly. It is true 3 season tent but I would try it in winter if I had to. Holds up nicely in windy conditions as it did near the peak of San Gorgonio during high winds. Typical well built North Face equipment as I expect it to be.

Customer Service

Have dealt with NF on my Mountain 25 getting a part. They were courteous and fast in assisting me to get it ready for my trip. I also have an NF outlet store near me and they help when they can.

I've had this tent for about a year now and I've taken it backpacking in Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina. For the price the weight is right and the performance generaly good. The tent has plenty of room for two (if friendly) and a vestibule large enough for one pack and boots. I've weathered one serious thunder storm in Pisgah and it kept me dry all night. I was able to cook in the vistibule with the roof vent open. The only problem I've discovered is that the rainfly will develope condensation and comes in contact at one area on either side of the entrance. this can be minimalized by staking the sides of the fly out but cannot be totaly eliminated. Overall a good tent for the price, but I will most likely invest in a nicer one when the money comes available. Avid backpackers on a budget should love this tent.

Customer Service
