i got this tent a couple years back when i was going to school in northcentral PA. it's been snow camping on little brook trout streams in the PA hills in freezing temps, it's been on a trip to the green river in UT in march weather (really cold and windy) and i just got back from a couple nights up on the kern river here in CA. from snow camping, to moderate winds (30-40), to going without the fly in hot conditions, this thing has been solid. it's too small, it's too heavy, but it's solid. i'm willing to carry 2 extra pounds and be a bit cramped as long as i don't have to worry. if you can afford both a 4 season and a light backpacking tent, i'd go for it... but if you're cheap like me and want a lotta bang for you buck, this tent is certainly acceptable. value rating is @ $200, the MSRP from TNF would get about a 3.5 - 4. Customer Service no experience with TNF CS. fingers are crossed. Similar Products Used: kelty vortex eureka 2xt |

This is a very good tent. It keeps the water out holds up to strong wind. The two doors and two vestuables are great also fine weight for backpacking. Can be set up by one person in about 5 min. With 2 people around 2min. This tent has many venting options. Condinsation is minor if all vents are open. One problem is that if you are in very hard ground you will have trouble finding a place to set up. Other than that great. Customer Service Never needed it. Similar Products Used: None |

WENT LOOKING IN MY CAMPMOR CATALOG FOR A 3-4 SEASON BACKPACKING TENT. GOD FRIEND HAS A TNF NEBULA AND I LIKED THE LAYOUT. THE POLARIS IS SCALED DOWN NEBULA. TI WAS ON SALE AND I WAS SOLD. IT HAS A FEW MORE FEATURE THAT MY FRIEND NEBULA DID NOT ( IT WAS A YEAR OR SO NEWER) LIKE THE REFLECTIVE STRAPING ON THE FLY AND TENT TO FIND THE SAME CORNER QUICKER. IT DOES SET UP QUICKLY AND WITH THE GREAT STAKES THEY PROVIDE IN ALMOST ANY GROUND. VESTIBULES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A TENT AND THE POLARIS GETS HIGH MARKS ON SIZE AND ACCESSABLILITY. VERY GOOD TENT I EXPECT TO LAST FOR MANY YEARS. Similar Products Used: None |

I've used this tent in the winter in Missouri and in the spring in the Smokies. It has worked well both times. The double doors are great and I can't imagine having only one now. The tent has plenty of vents and if used properly will vent the tent nicely. Make sure you seam seal the tent before using it. Its not very roomy but holds two people nicely. The dual vestibules are nice but its hard to put a lot of gear in there because it lays back onto the tent and causes it to sag. The tent sets up very easily with just one person. The only negative for me is that it is a little heavy. Similar Products Used: Eureka Mountain Pass 2XT |

I've used the tent twice in mild conditions and I like it. I do feel like it is a compromise in some areas. I wanted a 2-person, 3-4 season, free standing, 2 door tent that was not too heavy. This tent fits the bill. The compromise is that it is small for 2 people and is over-kill for summer camping. I noticed lots of condesation buildup inside the tent with all ventilation utilized. But I still like the tent. Similar Products Used: None |

I bought this tent after owning several others and love it! I backpack mainly in the winter in the boston mountains of Arkansas. This tent vents great, and is the perfect size for backpacking. I have been cought in major storms, but the tent was 100% water proof and withstood 60mph winds without flaping. Great tent for the serious backpacker. The polaris is an excellent tent. i have used it mainly in high wind on open bluffs. This tent with the rainfly staked in well can easily take continous 50+ mph wind without slapping. Adjacent campers tents did keep me up all night though.Ii also had no problem with leaks during rain and the vestbules are large enough that one can dig out a small trench and take a leak without going out in to the rain, though it takes a little posturing being 6'2". This can be very valuable at 4 am w/ heavy rain and a very full bladder. Besides it being a little on the heavy side I love this tent. Similar Products Used: None |

I really like my Polaris. It has been exceptionally solid in the wind and rain. I have camped with it in temps down to 0 degrees with a partner and it did fine. I have also had it in very warm and humid condistions. The tent has many different ventilating options, allowing excellent ventilation even when it is raining, thanks to the well-placed roof vents. The two vestibules are large and very usable. The double doors are great for ventilation and for your partner. The construction is rugged. I recommend seam-sealing the fly velcro points, fly zipper seams, and where the stake loops attach to the tent body as these will begin to seep after 10-12 hours of steady rain. One night we had several violent thunderstorms pass through with about three inches of rain, My wife and I ended up with our 2 mid-sized boys in the tent with us for several hours, but in spite of the deluge and high winds we all stayed dry, and the tent never so much as shuddered. I think this is a great tent. The tent is a little heavy, but it is a lot of tent for its size. The colors are very pleasant inside and out. Customer Service Haven't had to use it so far.
