Komperdell Vibra Stop Trekking Poles Trekking Poles

Komperdell Vibra Stop Trekking Poles Trekking Poles

DESCRIPTION

Relieve strain on wrist, arm and shoulder muscles with the Komperdell Vibra Stop trekking poles. Unique vibration absorbing system reduces vibrations by up to 98% when planting the pole. Insulated contour grip is constructed from EVA-foam for its lightweight and sweat-absorbing properties. Extended grip forms an additional gripzone making it possible to hold the pole shorter on traverses or steep slopes without adjusting the length. Neoprene-padded compact strap eliminates discomfort caused by buckles and prevents skin irritation of the wrist and the back of your hand. Three-section design lets you adjust pole length from 65 to 140 cm, depending on the terrain. Quick-release baskets can be changed with the twist of the wrist; remove trekking baskets and add snow baskets (sold separately) for winter hiking. Tungsten carbide tips offer long-lasting wear and durability.

I was happy with these pole in the shop. But when I am on the for 10minutes, I know it’s a really bas pole. But when you put your weight on it, they slip literally, and unlock, I would not even give it free to someone, because, it’s dangerous product. They are « made in Austria », supposed to be a quality product. Their advertising with a guy on the Everest (my god). I would never buy a product from Komperdell, neither a product from Austria.

Bought these poles and used them about 3 times and they siezed up, becoming useless. I would never buy another product from them. Junk. May be usable as pitons or rappel anchors.

This was my first set of poles. I just happened to get these, deciding to use my refund check (hence the $70 price paid). Good poles; love the grips (foam), the strap is reaonably comfortable, and the sections stay together. I''ve only had the sections come loose once, and that was after using them in mud (mud grips the tip and then you can un twist them as you walk, overtime). I have had the tip come off when removing the baskets, but it has never come off in use. Can''t see how it would, you pound it on. Tip: put a small return address label under some clear packing tape and stick it up high on the pole. I''ve had friends loose their poles down snow slopes, and this might eventually get the poles back to them. Boy, I''m an optimist...

Customer Service

None so far, but I''ll be contacting them concerning the pole tip. I''m wondering what kind of glue to use, if any.
