The locking mechanism on one of my Leki Ultralite Ti Air Ergo poles failed on my first trip with them. When I returned them at REI, the salesman said someone else had come in earier that day with the same complaint. And on hiking websites I've heard similar stories of the locking mechanism failing. Despite the disappointing failure, I'm thinking of ordering another pair since they're such a good set of poles otherwise. Especially the weight at 14 ounces/pair, you can't beat that. But I don't want to have the same problem again, especially if I'm in the middle of a b'packing trip. I've given these poles a rating of 2 stars instead of 1 because I really WANT to like them. But I won't ever like them if they fail again, which mine did. Conclusion: Avoid these poles until Leki works out the kinks. Customer Service Good. |
