I have had my boots for more than 5 years now, but don't think I would buy another pair. They have had several problems including pieces of the metal that hold the lace breaking off. They broke in really well, but don't hold up and give good support for carrying a load. I like them for day hiking, but not backpacking Customer Service Via REI, I sent them back to get the piece of metal replaced that holds the lace. They did so free of charge and I have had no problems since. Similar Products Used: None |

I have had five pairs of Asolos over the last ten years - 520, 555, 530. I buy them because they fit my foot extremely well and are a comfortable boot for rugged off-trail use. However, they do not hold up well at all. In particular, every pair I've had has cracked in the midsole long before the leather has worn out. I only buy a pair when I can find them for half price, absolutely not worth it at full price. Customer Service I returned (via REI) a pair that had cracked in the mid-sole. Asolo's response was that I hadn't taken care of the leather and they would therefore not cover them. |

Asolo boots fit people very well because of their americanized design, but you certainly can't expect to buy these boots for their life expectancy...it is short. I have seen numerous pairs with broken midsoles from simply daily wear around town. If they fit, and you don't need them to last, by all means buy them. If you want to buy one pair of boots in the next 10 years, buy a pair of vasque sundowners. Similar Products Used: None |
