Wow, awesome boots! I called customer service to see how long I would have to break in this indestructable boot and they told me at least 50 miles. I am only 110 pounds so it may take up to 100 (they said). It only took about 20 miles and the boots are sooooooo comfy. I can't tell you how good they are. I NEVER twist ankles or feel rocks through these hummer boots. The "integra fit" works perfectly for my flat wide feet with ultra narrow heel. Once broken in, these are your best friends. The more you wear them the more comfy they get. I have nothing bad to say about these boots. They will last a long time too. Made in Italy with great craftsmanship. Since they are made of 3mm Perwanger leather that is impregnated with silicone, they are very water proof. I also did a couple of coats of nikwax to ensure I stay dry. I walked in water galore because of rains and my feet stayed super dry. I notice that the support on these were better than my Lowa Scout II as far as ankle twising and pronating. I love these boots. I am lamenting the fact that I bought them 1/2 size too small. My toes bump the front and I get a little bruised. This is completely my fault since I didn't get the right size. Now I am afraid I will have to break in another boot!! uh oh, they don't make these anymore!!! These are like junior Montrail Moraines. The Vercors don't accept crampons too well though. They are just about as tough though. Get these shoes if you can find them. Just make sure they are the correct size and you'll be loving life. Not a hot spot to talk about once broken in!! Enjoy! Customer Service Very knowledgable and honest Similar Products Used: Montrail Moraine AT (still breaking in at this point. Brand new so far), Lowa Scout II, Tecnica Strarus, La Sportiva Makalu |
