Nike's new Women's Air Zoom Steens II fits the same critically-acclaimed mold for cushion, traction and protection, but features an enhanced outsole with varied rubber compounds for grip that lasts longer than the first version. Unlike some trail running shoes that focus on waterproof uppers, the Air Zoom Steens II uses a combination of slightly water-resistant textile and leather inserts, so it's best for fair and overcast weather, but the overall price is substantially lower than high-performance trail running shoes with similar features.
