Sadly, I have yet to wear out a Mentor Harness. My first one didn''t fit too well so I sold it to my friend. Then my second one was stolen from my car. Fortunately, I did get to log some mileage into my second Mentor but now that I''ve purchased a Petzl Corvax I don''t think I''ll ever get another BD sport harness. The Mentor is alright, and it fits OK. But the Petzl gear loops are better, the fit is easier to survive at hanging belays and I prefer the Petzl Double Back buckles. About the only praise I can give the Mentor is that it''s better than the old BD Wizard

Nice harness. Reasonably comfortable, has rear balay loop which is
nice for tying in when balaying heavier people. Plenty of gear
racks. I'd recommend it.

This is a good Harness. I use it On sport roughts both inside and outside, and on multipich trad. I don't need ajustable legs cause I don't ice climb. The only downfall I found is if you end up on a multipitch and have to belay siting in your harness you will wish the leg loops were longer and did not cut into your legs.

Great all-round harness. I use it for both trad- and sportclimbing, and it works fine for me. Four gearloops plus the fifth, the haulloop where I hang my ATC and my screwgates covers my needs. It keeps its shape well after three seasons work. I like it, might by the same the next time.

Easily the most comfortable harness that i have ever worn. The one piece belay loop is much easier to work with. There is almost no noticeable shock on falls, except high sport climbs. The only drawback is that it was a little expensive. But so far it is yet to show wear. It should last for four years easily.

The Mentor is the best combination of comfort and weight of any harness I've used. It does not noticeably restrict my leg movement, it holds a fall comfortably, it is easy to put on, and the tie-ins seem secure. I've not noticed any undue wear, although I will replace mine with another this year after 4 seasons of use.

Excellent harness with padding that is supportive enough that it won't cut into the lower back much. I've since retired this harness and the only complaint I could've made about it was that it didn't have adjustable legs to accomodate layers, etc but for nice sunny cragging its perfect. Ample gear loops.

By far the best harness made today. I use mine for all types of climbing (alpine, walls, ice, etc). Lightweight for alpine and super comfy on the walls. I've had several friends sell their bigwall harness for a mentor!

Very versatile harness, works fine in rock, alpine, and ice climbing situations. Like most sport harnesses, however, not the most comfortable for long hanging belays. Has held up well for 4 years of various abuse, with one exception-- I need to have the strap end re-melted about once a season since the end tends to crack, making it hard to double back (this isn't first harness I have had this problem with, however). I definitely recommend, though if you're planning on using it for rock and ice/alpine, I'd get the AL (adjustable legs) to make it easier to fit over thick layers.
