Petzl's Guru is a high quality, comfortable, and versatile piece of gear. Fully adjustable leg loops are great. They may make the harness a little heavier, but the ability to lock them down tight whether wearing shorts or winter gear make the harness super comfortable and versatile. The guru is especially usefull if you find yourself caught between leg loop sizes in non adjustable harnesses. I had this problem and ended up with a harness that had the nasty habit of rising up into my crotch. Plus, Petzl has eliminated the hassle of feeding and doubling back three different buckles that plaques regular fully adjustable harnesse using a cool autobuckle system. All you have to do with the guru is slide it on, pull it tight, and go. There's no chance of failing to properly do up the buckles, and you get an adjustable harness that's good for both rock/aid/ice apline, pretty much everything. The backband and leg loops are wide, supportive, and ventilated, and the quailty is superb. The guru is made with the same close attention to detail that goes into all of Petzls products. The materials are high quality, and the construction is first class. The only downfall of the harness is the price. At 150 Bucks Canadian or so, it's in the upper range of harnesses, but In my opinion, it's worth the money. The guru is a solid and versatile harness that's built to last.

This harness is very comfortable. It's extremely adjustable, so you can wear just about anything under it. I bought it for climbing sailboat masts as well as for rock climbing: you can sit in it for ages. The gear loops don't look great to my eye, but work very well. I've had the harness for 6 years now, and it's held up well. It's a little heavy, but not too bad. Buy it from MEC http://www.mec.ca

VERY comfortable harness, but at a cadilac price. I usually see this in the $100+ price range at most local shops. the padding holds up well and has just the right amount of firmness w/o feeling too bulky. like the adjustability and freedom of movement, but the price needs to come down.

Customer Service

In my opinion, Petzl dominates the market. their ""automatic double back"" feature will help keep a lot more of those lazy people in the gene pool (is that a good thing - probably)

This is an amazing harness, the best i've ever used. While it is both somewhat pricy and heavy its comfort, due to its buckle system and padding are unparalleled. As well it is built to last many years of hard climbing. This harness is worth every penny of the price.

Very good in a heavy duty, unbreakable kind of way. I use it as my outdoors harness for that reason. Expensive though and its lack of a real haul loop can be a pain.

You'll get the deal about how good its features are from the others, I agree
I will add that my choice was limited as I have to damaged disks (in my back) where the belt goes round and this harness is the first not to wind up that injury!!
The double staps rock no matter how much you wear you can center the harness
The only fault I've found is that the leg staps slip down at the back, but a simple rubberband wrapped round just under the buckle fixed it
Great harness

I am for once am impressed with this harness. The durability is great. I like the double-back deal. It makes slipping into the gurou incredibly fast and easy. Although it only has 2 sizes, that is all you need. Petzl makes the best products around. I like the fact that it doesn't ride up my rear too. The gear loops are strong and can hold tons of gear. i once aided up half dome with the gurou and I did a little test. I used the Arc'terx vapor and the gorou. although the vapor was roomy and spacious, the gourou hugged me tight, like a comfortable pair of briefs. Petzl did a great job. thanks.

This is the first harness I have ever owned, and I imagine that it will be the only one. It is wonderful--easy to buckle up, comfortable, light, and durable. The only drawback is its price tag.

Customer Service

I doubt I will ever have to return this bad boy for any reason.
