Scarpa Inverno Mountaineering Boots

Scarpa Inverno Mountaineering Boots

DESCRIPTION

This is a great four-season boot. The sole and nylon Pebax shell are very stiff for stable frontpointing, while a hinged cuff and a "rocker" sole keep approaches comfortable. A heavily padded tongue adds even more comfort, and a cork footbed provides considerable insulation. The pronounced welt allows a good fit with many crampons. This boot is suitable for cold weather alpine, waterfall, and expedition climbing.

FEATURES
• Aggressively rockered sole and hinged cuff
• Deep crampon-bail grooves
• Cork insole for insulation & shock absorbtion
• EVA insulated inner boots

Sizes: 4.5 to 13
Weight: 5 lbs, 10 oz (2.6 kg)

The best all around mountaineering boot I've had on my feet. Its comfortable to log long miles on trail or glacier in, nice and toasty warm under all conditions, and soft but supportive during toe bashing AKA front pointing. And it fits almost all crampons. Its only drawback is the wide toe profile for mixed routes.

No cold toes on Denali. Never a blister in the many miles I've done in them. High altitude liner does not quite have the same volume as standard

This is a very warm and comfortable boot. Make sure you break them in well before you go out on a big climb. Spray the liner boot down with Techron every now and then. That will insure water proofness. This is the only boot I would recommend to any serious climber

Scarpa make a great boot. The inverno is designed for a slim low volume foot. The liner that is shipped w/ the boot is great for Cascade climbing however, if @ altitudes above 15000 purchase the seperate HA liner.

The Sarps are a great boot. They are best for a person w/ a narrow foot bed and low foot volume. The Inverno 98 model and this years model are both good choices for Cascade climbing. For high altitudes a better liner can be purchased.

Customer Service

BD has great customer service. Any questions just give them a call. They have spent many a cold hour in the mountatins.

Koflach Expedition. The 99 model offers great flexability and a wonderful liner. Most likely the warmest double on the market. However, if you have a pronation problem or low volume feet be aware.
