these nuts are a favorite for leaders, but an enemy to followers. these nuts seat the best and feel the most secure for the leader. the "notch" in the design allows for the nut to seat well in well-featured granite cracks (lots of large grains). these also place endwise very well, because of the more rounded design. alas, these nuts dont clean well, but what does that matter??--let your follower worry about that! also, the larger sizes (7-10) feel heavy compared to say, BD stoppers. they are heavy enouhg to feel a little clunky on your rack, and sometimes get a little unweildy when reaching for a high placement. good value, great sizing make these a great but. however, if i was to do it again, id get a full set of BD Stoppers (or wild country--theyre soo similar to BD) and get Wallnuts 1-6 for my double-ups. These nuts are hot forged, a manufacturing technique that permits the aluminum to take on radical shapes and curves. These nuts fit better where other nuts may be marginal, and although they may be a little harder to clean, that may go a long way towards them holding a whipper as you sail past. Excellent in all types of rock, every climber needs a set of Wallnuts. An excellent compliment to nuts you may already own. I have been using these nuts for 10 years without a single complaint, and my placements have always held in all rock types. Strength:

Weakness:
None Awsome nuts that seem to sit everywhere. They look wierd but they fuction very well awsome for pebbley cracks. My only complaint is sometiems they stick too well and if youre not satisfied with the placement they take a little fiddling to get out. Similar Products Used: BD stoppers WC rocks |
