As other reviews have stated, this is a wonderful all around shoe for a beginner or intermediate climber, though it is better on real rock than on gym holds. One important note when trying them on: Find the size that you think is plenty tight enough, and buy them 1/2 size smaller. These things climb great but they stretch like crazy!

Customer Service

Five-Ten is an excellent company with fantastic customer service

I like my Spires, but they aren't very sensitive and they don't edge as well as I would like. A great all around shoe, I'm just realizing now that when I am doing more challenging bouldering and edging on roped climbs I need something else. They are comfortable, though. I bought them tight enough that my toes were a bit curled at the end, and they've stretched enough that my toes aren't curled anymore.

I have been climbing for 7 years and I have gone through alot of shoes. For the money i have never climbed in a better pair of shoes. Yes they do limit the level of climbing but I love them for crack to thin edgeing. I even sized them down and do very well on gym walls. I recommend them for climber who is pushing o save a penny!!! Enjoy and I hope they carry you as well as they carry me.

Great shoe! Used it my first year with no problems. Comfortable fit, and the Stealth rubber is terrific. Used it mostly on face climbing, although I've started doing more and more crack climbing.

Purchased these shoes from REI as my first pair and used them extensively in Arizona at the time. Had no problems with the shoes and thought they worked quite well for $99.

Customer Service

Never had to call the manufacturer for any problems.

Comfortable shoe for simple cragging and playing in the gym. Great for smearing and edging although it would be nice if the toe profile could be narrower for cracks...

This was my first pair of shoes, and I have been very pleased. I have had them for about a year, they work well on most surfaces I have encountered. The inside lining is very comfortable, good value for beginners.
