I don't have the trio-safe rope, mine is marked in the middle, and close to the ends with 2 black bands about 4 inches wide. This was great the first or second time I used the rope, but as it got dirty, the black marks were harder to pick out form the dark green rope. also, sometimes you would look in to a pile of the rope when it was flaked out, and see one of the marks, grab it thinking it was the middle mark, and find it was one of the end marks. They should have marked the middle differently. The rope is a little stiff. It doesn't slide into my belay device with out some effort (ATC-XP-Guide). I bought the rope because I loved the Mammut Flash I had bought a few years ago, but this one just isn't the same. I probably wouldn't buy it again.
