Dagger Caption Canoes

DESCRIPTION

Experienced tandem teams will tell you, the Caption is THE performance oriented tandem whitewater canoe to paddle. Its versatility also allows it to be an awesome solo boat for those single bladed paddlers who prefer a longer canoe.

Paddler

I am a larger than average paddler (6'3", 245 lbs) and I can't get my legs comfortable in those super small boats. As a solo boat, the Caption is perfect for me. It even has room for a little gear, like lunch or a fishing rod. This is a very versatile boat - even thogh it has a fair amount of rocker, its length gives it good speed and enough tracking to handle reaaasonably windy open water. Its reputation as a tandom boat, of course, needs no embellishment from me.

Customer Service

Dagger customer support provided me with excellent instructions on installation of triple pedestal, float bags, and thigh straps.

I have owned a Phantom (couldn't paddle it for more than 30 minutes without my legs going to sleep) and still own a Discovery 169.

Pretty much like the review says - this is a great plastic tandem whitewater boat. It could have more edge but thats what glass slalom boats are for.

On my third - I like the yellow. Have paddled around (Upper Yough, Gauley tandem and here in Idaho) and would not suggest it as a solo creek boat (unless you are a physically big person) but it does do well solo in big water (Lochsa -7 1/2') If its not dry enough get a deck.
