I purchased my canoe in 2003 and it has been a fine canoe, used very moderately since 2003 but I did want to provide some advice and warning regarding the type of canoe you decide to purchase. My Nahanni has been stored both inside and carefully outside since 2003 and unfortunately this summer the wood gunnels fell apart at the joints. If you buy a Langford do not purchase the wood gunnels, the workmanship on mine were defintely sub-standard. They may look fine for a while but issues start to show up within a few years. My canoe was two tone red and white. The white on the bottom is fine but the red has almost faded in sections to white. Customer Service When I contacted the General Manager/Sales and Marketing Director (apparently the only one I can deal with), I had a difficult time getting messages returned but after three months I was able to find out that he couldn't provide a date for doing any repairs, he was basically not interested. He also advised that 99.9% of canoe issues were the fault of the owner and that it would cost me $500 to repair the gunnels and another $1000 to touch up the paint. Customer service was not acceptable, buyer beware. Similar Products Used: Next canoe will not be a Langford. |
