I bought my Swing a couple years ago as my first boat and I love it. I used it fishing freshwater and salt and it is just a great all around boat.I have sufred some huge waves with it and had a blast. I am about 6 foot and 225 pounds and it is perfect for me. I have actually stood up on my boat in calm water it is so stable. I have paddled the prism and it was a bit faster but not as dry.I use plugs in the drain holes when not surfing for a nicre dry ride.I have also tried a boat made for surfing and I couldnt get past the break on it, so I got my own boat (the swing) and got out with no problem. I highly reccomend this boat to bigger paddlers that would like a nice stable boat, or even divers. I had no problem getting back on my boat in even the biggest surf conditions. |

None I have by swing for about two years in which I have paddled in all kinds of swells and sea conditions in and around the bay of Gibraltar and the Straits of Gibraltar. I must confess I have only praise for this great sea worthy kayak. It would take a very exceptional kayak for me to change from my swing. If anyone out there is considering the swing rest assured that you will be buying a great kayak. Regards Andrew fellow kayaker. Similar Products Used: None |

I bought my Perception Swing about 7 or 8 years ago. Since then I have used it for many dozens of day paddles in marshes, swamps, small lakes, and--in decent conditions--on the Chesapeake Bay. The Swing was a great first boat for me: at the time a 6'2", 220 pound, mid-40s beginning paddler. Now I'm still 6'2", but I'm down to about 207 and in my mid-50s, and it's STILL a great boat for me.My wife, who is both much smaller and much younger than I, scoots around on a Pijon twister while I haul our gear on day trips and short tours. I really love this boat. It is extremely versatile. It can be used for evrything: cruising, camping, surfing. There may be better boats for each of these things, but not for all. Anyone who thinks sit on tops are not for cold water are simply wrong. I find myself drier in this boat than in enclosed cockpits because I sit higher out of the water, which also makes for a much more comfrtable paddling experience. If its cold out or if the water is freezing, put on some layers sillyhead, you'll keep plenty warm. There are lots of great sit on tops out there, for the money though the swing is great (did I mention the huge cargo hatches?) |
