The Prijon Odysee is a well made and solid kayak with a rigid bottom design that prevents "oil canning" as with most larger plastic boats. Great for beach bashing where you can charge right into shore while boaters with fiberglass or kevlar boats must be extra carefull. Medium capacity for gear. Has bulkheads fore and aft, with hard plastic hatches over neoprene skirt seals. There is room for small drybags in front of paddlers feet and behind seats. It also has rigging for on deck storage and a molded in base for a compass mount. It paddles easily and tracks well with its rudder system. I particularly like the "gas pedal" style foot controls for the rudder. There are also adjustable pegs for the bow paddler. It is a little less stable than some wider boats and does have a bit of a tippy feel that takes some getting used to. Stability improves when fully loaded. The one thing I disliked about this boat is the way it handles in higher, rough following seas. It seems a bit squirrely and requires diligence in keeping it headed down wind. I would recommend it as a boat for more sheltered waters as opposed to open seas. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: NA |
