I dig these snowshoes. They are light and strong. The new bindings this year make them VERY easy to get on and off in snow. They are good for various terrain. AND they are CHEAP!!

These are very light. I think that the bindings are great. They are an excellent value. I need to try these and the Atlas again before I decide which ones to buy.

Awesome shoe. Super light (which really matters when lashed to pack on 5 mile approach), bomber construction, great crampon, superb side traction, and dumps snow from deck faster than my last girlfriend with our relationship. Best part of shoe is the binding. I can get these puppies on at 14000 in blizzard at -10 in under a minutes while buddies with ratchet bindings are fumbling around wasting precious time.

Just got em and liked the design immedialtely. The 8 inch extension is difficult to slide on but works well once on. wish the stretch laces could be tucked away rather than flapping in the wind. Good traction on most terrain.

great shoes so far. Took a friend backpacking the other day through a mix of brush and snow. the msrs performed great. His tubbs kept getting stuck in the brush causing face plants. Noticed a difference going up hill, too. msrs had a lot more grip going up the mountain compared to him. He was really struggling at times. all around good shoes.

These are very good snowshoes mostly because of the great design (plastic) and I like the traction bars and crampon. The only part of this product I thought could be improved was going to a ratchet binding.

98 was the most epic snow season in history. period. I tried various types of snowshoes during an avalache course. The MSR with the additional fins were easily the winners. They side cut slopes very well, did not slide backwards, were extremely light, kept me much higher than others, were lightning fast to put on/off and were at least half the price of many others. Excellent design and engineering. I weigh about 180lbs without pack/gear and used them for backcountry snowboarding. Easily the best shoe for only a fraction of the cost!

Customer Service

To further enhance the performance of your MSRs buy a tele-ski heal lift kit and bolt them to the snowshoe. Excellent for long climbs in deep powder. Saves your ankle joints and calves.

mountaineer/snowboard. these are hands down the best snowshoes for backcountry snowboarding/mountaineer, they also climb trees pretty well. i have the original ones from 4 years ago and they are still going strong. i have broken laces pulled hooks and walk and climb on many a rock with these puppys. i would not trust any other shoe. coming from a snowboarding background i know that ratchets suck, they have been around for about 6-7 years on snowboard bindings. the only ones that work and last are very expensive(ATlAS does not use good ones) everything else breaks. after seeing the new ascent series i might actually buy new one, but not after trying to retro fit mine with heel lifts. oh ya these are also the cheapest shoe out there, what a bonus

Simple and durable, excellent on steep slopes, easy to put on, good on traverses. They perform well on the wet snow we "enjoy" so much here. I haven't had the chance to try them on powder, but I guess attaching the tails gives you enough floatation. Excellent price.
