Customized the parka with extra down and a tunnel hood. The tunnel hood is great. Good quality overall but I have two problems that are hard to live with. First is the fit. I ordered XX large as I put it on over all my other pile, wind jackets, etc. The chest is tight (I have a 44" chest) and the sleeves are long enough for two gorillas. Second, the zipper area is thin and leaves a cold spot down the front of the parka.

Customer Service

Pretty good except that they will not exchange custom orders. I would have preferred some of that sleeve down and material moved to the chest and zipper area.

Not my best looking coat but this does the job for keeping me out of the cold. Down is the way to go for insulation. Parkas have the best coverage to keep your face warm. Zippers are high quality and do not snag. I will replace this one with another when it is time.

I just received a custom Ice Fall to fit my unique sizing. It took four months and many calls to FF. They do not respond to E-Mail. However, it fits great. FF missed on a few finer details, but after demanding they fix their errors they agreed. The parka will be going back in the spring, I would recommend FF to anyone willing to put up with their lack of user friendly service. Design detail is ever changing. Don't rely on the printed info they may send you or the web page. The price was ever changing, or should I say they tried to change the quoted price midstream. Be firm with them. They are over extended on orders. Their approach seems like they are doing you a favour. Having said that the parka is extremely warm and well made. If you choose to deal with them be ready for a trip to la-la land. Be tolerant, they may have experienced too many high-altitude, low oxygen exposures. I must like pain, and am thinking of ordering a lighter down-jacket.

This jacket made me nervous at first, due to the apparent fragile nature of materials. On the contrary, the materials have held up well, and I have been pleased with the jacket. The hood snaps are a joke, however. If you need a coat this warm, why would you take the hood off anyway?? I sewed my hood on, seam sealed the stitching, and have loved it. Nice BIG pockets are well thought out and appreciated by half frozen water bottles, etc.. I wore this in -55, with 100 mph winds in Alaska, and was pleased. (I would not recommend those conditions to anyone.) This coat may have saved my life....... Packs up better than almost all other coats!
