I don't know about these last two guys, but I have been very pleased with my sauvage. It has performed well in very conditions, from skiing, backpacking, and around town. The jacket has all the features you need, is well designed and thought out. The material is very tough, despite what some others may think, tougher than any other jackets I've seen around. I have another piece of moonstone outerwear and both are top of the line. Customer Service Haven't needed them and don't anticipate too. A friend of mine sent his momentum tech back afterthe main zipper tab wore down after three years of heavy use and they repaired it free of charge. Perhaps the guy below should have sent it back to Moonstone in the first place. Similar Products Used: TNF, Obermeyer, Columbia |

I like the many useful features and the cut of this jacket. But somehow I managed to rip it several times at the backside and the sleeves. I don't even know how it happened, I think the material just isn't strong enough. The other downside are the sews. They don't seem to be completely water proof. Btw. I got the 95 model so this might have changed since. Similar Products Used: Marmot Climbing Jacket |

Moonstone sucks!!! I had this jacket for 2 1/2 weeks when the main zipper tab broke. I called "The Gerry Group" and was told that they don't do repairs and I was to send it to Rainy Day Pass Repair, because "they use the same high quality zippers that we do." Two months later I recieve the jacket with a non-technical BS zipper that was sewn in wrong. I immediately called Moonstone and talked to "Renee" the worthless cusotmer service rep who informed me that there was nothing they could do about it and suggested I call Rainy Day Pass, which I did. I was informed that "Moonstone uses YKK zippers and they are very expensive, we can't afford to use them." They suggested I call Moonstone. I called Moonstone and asked to talk to someone higher, and more intelligent than Renee. WHoever I talked to said that there was nothing they could do since they are all out of stock. I asked for a refund of my money and they said they wouldn't do it! I am shipping the jacket back to them so they can ram it up there @$$!!!!!!!!!!! Customer Service THEY SUCK!!! Any one who is foolish enough to buy a Moonstone product, let alone, any product of the Gerry Group better watch out!!!!!!! THEY DO NOT BACJ THEIR PRODUCT AT ALL!!!!!!!! Too bad this doesn't have negative stars because they would be a minus ten!!!!!!! Similar Products Used: None |

The absolute best jacket ever. Everybody has already covered all the positives. This jacket is bombproof and a steal these days at some places on the web. |

This jacket is great, it would stand up to the worst mother nature puts out. The construction is solid and very well designed. This jacket has a lot of features: all zippers are watertight except the center one which has storm flaps, one hand drawcords, ergonomic hood, lots of pockets, etc. The only real thing I miss on this jacket is a storm skirt. Overall an excellent jacket and I recommend it to anyone looking for mountaineering piece. Customer Service Moonstone was great in customer service. I used to have a Moonstone Advantage Parka, which I got for about $200 at rei-outlet.com. I applied some Revivx to the Parka and began to notice the color seeping through on the inside. When I contacted Moonstone they told me to send it back, and in exchange they sent me the Sauvage to replace it at no charge. I was extremely happy and impressed witht the service I got. They really stand behind their products. Similar Products Used: Moonstone Advantage Parka, Moonstone Momentum Expedition, and Columbia Bugaboo |

Only got this jacket for one week now. It is a successor of the TNF Kichatna as that one didn't held up. First impressions: the longer armpit zippers are better venting, especially because it runs down the waist some more, which makes it more effective. All the zippers, except for the main one are "waterproof" which could be a nice addition in protection of me and my stuff. Because of this the armpit zippers need much less covering and are therefor much better reachable, without having to remove cloth. The hood follows as long as you don't look op. The protection is somewhat less as it leaves your face more exposed. The length is just sufficient to cover your butt. In times of need of reliability you can use the crotchstrap to secure the coverage. The fabric seems stronger then the TNF's, but is also heavier and less supple and therefore harder to store. In time this will problaby get better. The Napoleon pockets are nice to get in to and the ones with the entry almost in your armpits could be nice to rest your hands in. The two pairs of three(!) pockets are behind each other, so when you fill up you are big busted. The elastic at the end of the sleeves are nice, because you don't need to retighten everytime you put on your jacket. All the cords are put away inside the jacket so they don't go all over the place. And it has the best colourscheme I came across (the green one). Similar Products Used: The North Face Kichatna |

Just got the Sauvage Parka a few days ago so this review will not go into any durability concerns obviously. Similar Products Used: Moonstone Momentum tech parka, Moonstone Momentum Expedition parka, Moonstone Momentum Ascent Parka, MontBell 3 Layer GTX, Performance Bike 2 layer GTX parka |

I have use my parka for 3 years, and it has held up admirably. It has function great as my personal portable shelter in high winds, rain and driving snow. I've washed it 3 times and reapplied waterproofing as the repellancy isn't what it used to be in the high-wear areas such as arms. After 3 years the only visible wear in inside on the seam tape along the waist and hem draws. Some tape has delaminated in the wrist area and some delamination of the gortex layers behind the head. When this one gets trashed, I will definitely purchase another one. Customer Service There was some difficulty when Moonstone went out of business a few years ago, but since then they've been bought by ESPRIT and they're back on track. |

I have only had my shell a few weeks but it has performed higher than my highest expectations. I have one other peice of moonstone gear and both are top quality. The first time I took it out snowshoeing it dumped on us. We were alredy fighting our way through three to five feet of powder with more comming down. The shell kept me dry and warm even through many down-hill wipouts. The large internal pockets provided plenty of room for food and drink without making an uncomfotabe bunch in the fabric. I purpusly bought the shell lage for layering. With a down parka underneath it fits perfectly. I highly recomend this shell. I tried on all the high end shell that my local dealer had to offer. My only wish would be a powder skirt, but the double waist and hem sinch cords seem to perform well. |
