This jacket is incredible. I don't where Gore-tex except in winter because of this jacket. It is extremely light weight and packs very small. And, unlike Gore-tex, it keeps you dry. It is unbreathable material though and must be vented. It has very long underarm zips that are great and the chest pockets open up to vent as well. Don't waste your money on Gore-tex unless you ice climb or ski backcountry. |

I purchased this in a time of need and didn't have time to do my homework, but I have no regrets. Great non-Goretex rainwear. It is extremely lightweight, packable, and waterproof. The full pit-zips do a great job of ventilating and you can also open the two side pockets for additional ventilation. The construction is bombproof and the cut is not confining. It has made me a Mountain Hardware fan. Customer Service Have not dealt with customer service. |

I bought the Grade 5 jacket for fastpacking/AT section hiking. I also have the Mtn Hrdwr Torrent jacket, which is also coated. The Grade 5 jacket is the best non-breathable jacket I`ve seen. It has long pitzips, and ventable pockets. The cut is much better, with a hood that rivals more expensive 3 ply jackets. I have the Marmot 3 ply Thunderlight and thier 2 ply Denali, but lately I seem to grab my Grade 5 jacket more often then any other jacket I own. Unlike my Torrent, I sometimes forget I`m wearing a coated jacket. I weighed the jacket on my trusty postal scale, and it weighed in at 13 oz for size large. Good jacket, especially for 3 eason/light/fastpacking. Jeff Customer Service Have not used thier customer service.
