You would get the impression that I'm partial to Mountain Hardwear gear. I own everything in the Tempest SL kit, Tempest SL insulated jacket, jacket, windshirt, pants and gloves. That is the best endorsement I can give for the Tempest line. Used the gloves on a backcountry outing and they were fantastic. Windshirt is for running and very cold rides (didn't seem all that big, but I surprisingly fit a monkey man underneath and it was like an oven on a 25 degree bike ride). The jacket is great when you need a more "substantial" top (hood, pockets, etc, and the insulated jacket is for anything short of sub zero temps. All in all, the tempest line is perfect for active outdoor pursuits. Customer Service n/a |

Excellent Shell. The conduit sl is incredible at repelling heavy water and snow! Used layered with long sleeve and polypro shirt and provided good warmth and GREAT wind resistance. Stood up to wind gusts of 50mph. Pit vents work well when hiking. The hood does its job well and packs out of the way nicely when not in use. Don't have a single complaint about this jacket! This is one of the best clothing items available. It is perfect for just about anything: town, travel, biking, hiking and skiing, warm weather and cold. The fabric is amazing: it is nearly waterproof (I have yet to get wet despite big downpours), and it's the most breathable W/B fabric by far. This stuff breathes so whell it's practically like unlaminated nylon. Now you really can have your cookie and eat it to! This has become my daily jacket, it is light and packable for warm weather and breathable enough for my daily bicycle commute. Also it is more than waterproof enough for that (45 minutes). It is also so soft and suple that it can easily be worn inside(a tent) or as a baselayer for winter mountaineering. The soft fabric lining can be worn against the skin in warmer weather and feels very comfortable. It does not slide over fleece very well however. The jacket comes with two handwarmer and one chest pocket, a hood(could be better), pit zips, velcro cuff tabs and drawcords at the bottom hem and in the small of the back. They also make a shirt, which has only the chest pocket, no hood and no drawcords/cuff tabbs. All in all one of the best jackets around both for performance and versatility.
