Many climbers prefer the additional weather protection and storage capacity of a bib. Ours has been perfected for alpinists and expedition climbers to pack small and dry fast in full 3-Layer Gore-Tex® fabric construction. The bib portion is non-laminated for unihibitied breathability and easier packing.

BEST BIB ON THE MARKET!!! I bought this bib because it was on sale, and I thought it would be fun to try it out. I didn't have a choice of the size because they only had an XXL left. It was way to big, but a nice bib. If you're looking for a bib that will last you the rest of your life, this is the one! There isn't a bib on the market that will satisfy you as much as this one. I only have a one complaint, and that is this: The wiz zip is pointless. If you're wearing layers under the bib (which I hope you are) it is a big hassle to get off the under layers when nature calls. It would also save some weight if they just had a regular fly. If you're looking for a bib, this one will excell anywhere any time! (I gave it 3 stars off because no matter how much I get these outdoor products fro, they're way too pricey!)

Customer Service

Marmot stands by there lifetime gaurentee with full force. They are curtious and will deal with the situation swiftly. I have returned two other Marmot shells due to size (I even wore them a few times) and each time they took them back, no questions asked.

Incrediably durable, these Bibs are designed for winter use by Ski resort employees. The crampon patch is redundant for climbers who wear waterproof gaiters with all their bibs but the bibs wear well and keep you dry! Bibs stay up when grovelling through deep snow on long approaches and can keep you dry when the suns's out if you shed the upper body shell.

The standard Alpinist bib is a two layer/ three layer hybrid with even thicker fabric for long life. Both are very durable and a lighter weight bib could provide a substantial savings in weight.

I've used the Marmot bibs for 10 years now. They are still in great shape after many winter ski days with no problems. The fit is excellent. I've tried on other pants/bibs, and Marmot seems to fit me the best.

Customer Service

My wife and I both use the Alpinist Bib, although she has the newer on with the thigh pocket. I recently tried another brand and was wondering why I switched. I'm now back to Marmot with a new found respect for the durability, comfort and functionality. I do wish I had the thigh pocket on mine, however, the chest pocket seems to hold most things. It is easier to get things out of the thigh pocket when it is -25 degrees C, since you don't have to open up the jacket.

They work well with crampons, fitting close enough to avoid catching. Excellent performance in deep snow as well. Shoulder straps adjust well and work with a variety of upper body clothing.
