I have the 3-layer gtx model, and these pants really rock. I've used them for mountaineering, snowboarding, even at 90+mph wind/rain on my motorcycle. Yup... nice and dry. Super hight quality, way comfortable... and electric blue (bzzz)!!! it's easy to spot me on the slopes! If you can get a good deal on these... get them!!! |

I bought these shell pants mostly for lift-skiing as I have been doing more of that in recent years that backpacking. I recall a day two seasons ago when I was caught, on my second day, in a bizzare storm in which it was raining at the bottom of the lift, freezing rain halfway up, and snowing at the top. These conditions persisted for more than an hour and I was able to complete 4-5 runs. I would literally get soaked at the bottom and by the time I was at the top of the lift, I was cracking ice off my shell. After a several cycles I was still warm and dry. I have experienced wet-out with my Gore-tex shell before, and expected the same with these pants. Curiously, though, it never happened. Marmot makes excellent products and, if they'd ever make their website useable, I'd probably buy more of them. Customer Service I got mine on sale at EMS for $199.00 so I cannot even complain about the price. Similar Products Used: Nothing else quite like them. These were my first gore pants |

What a great pair of pants. These are light, comfy and absolutely waterproof. The waistline is very high, which prevents any moisture from senaking in under a jacket. |

I just purchased these pants, but from my initial impression, quality is very high. I tried on Mt Hardware, Patagonia, Lowe Alpine, and several others, and these pants show excellent workmanship, and a lifetime guarantee. I am fully confident they will perform in the field to expectations. |
