None I never owned a heart rate monitor before I got this watch, and now I wonder how I got by all these years without one. This watch has changed how I train and climb. I''''ve owned it for a year and have used almost contiously and the battery is still going strong, and that really surprized me. It has very few scratchs on for all the adventures I took it on too. The compass mode saved my life. Similar Products Used: Casio Pathfinder watch |

I needed a watch with an Altimeter as I realized that one of the key metrics on a map is altitude -- i.e., another means of retracing your steps if lost, etc. The Advisor was $300 and Metron was $370 when I was looking (not sure how one of the poster's got theirs at REI at $209; was $300 at REI when I looked thus buy if it goes to $209 again). Metron just has a bit more durable shell than the Advisor but basically the same watch. Anyway, great product!! The only thing that would top this off is if somehow, it could be manufactured to not be so big. Then the "stylish" look would be great as it would work well as a regular watch. They advertise the Metron as the stylish version of the Advisor, but you would have to be a giant for the size not to look out of place in a normal setting. Customer Service I had a couple questions. One of their tech folks gave me a call back. He was helpful and knew his stuff. He was a bit rushed, but it was ok because he answered my couple questions.
