I actually have the Etonic Dri-Trainer. Don't know if this is close to the same thing. The Dri-Trainer has a Gore-Tex liner in it. I bought these shoes used for $6 (Goodwill rules!), and they've worked well in *light* mud and drizzle/light rain. However, if you're running/hiking in muck and heavy rain and happen step in a puddle that goes over the top of the shoe, the Gore-Tex is worthless. Overall, the shoe is well-built and they have sustained many miles with not much wear.
