Nothing to complain.

This review is a long time coming. We bought our machine in the fall of 1998 and have had very good luck. A $2 fuse went 2 years ago and that's it. Sure it has no heart monitor and iPod dock but we manage. We would have to pay as much or more to replace it and what for.? We are in a our 50's now and don't run, just fast uphill walking mostly. VERY sturdy and quite quiet really. Ugly as hell compared to the new ones and not portable. But my experience is that if you put an appliance away chances are you won't use it??? I brag this thing up all the time.

I looked extensively for treadmills and narrowed it down to the pacemaster or the True. We settled on the pacemaster for the following reasons: 1. Cost - 15 - 20% below the True 2. Value, all the features and built to last. 3. Reputation - The Pacemaster has consistantly rated best buy by Runnersworld. We have used it now for two months with no problems. Purchased the Pro Plus model. It was $300.00 less the the next model that had a heartrate. We purchased a Polar hr monitor for $80.00. A wonderful piece of equipment extremely happy with the performance and the response of the deck. $1800 is Canadian - $1400 US

Looked at several manufacturers and decided upon the PaceMaster ProPlus HR because of the reputation of the unit and favorable reviews. We have had it for close to 4 years. The wife and I use it and you can really hammer on this thing, running a combined 15-40 miles/week and doing fast (10+ mph) intervals. The HR display is especially helpful. Its got some programming features that I have not used, opting for the manual input. It's quiet and user friendly.

We got the Pacemaster Pro-Plus last Christmas and haven't regretted it. It was the most solid in it's price-range, had all of the features we needed and hasn't had any problems. Previous to this all of our treadmill running had been at gyms, and I don't feel like we're sacrificing at all not using the professional equipment.

After shopping for many weeks/months, we ended up buying the PaceMaster Pro Plus. We bought it just as the Pro Plus HR was being put on the market. My wife used it to help train for a 15K and then for a marathon. Prior to buying the treadmill, she had never run. She loves it. We had one concern and the reps came to our home the next day and adjusted the treadmill and showed us what needed adjusting and how we could adjust it if needed in the future. Since then (we've had the treadmill for 4 years), we have had no problems. It compares to treadmills costing twice as much. My sister just bought the Pro Plus HR. She has run in two marathons. If you think you may run someday, invest in a quality treadmill. Those found for $300-800 can't handle running over a period of time. We've had friends whose treadmills broke within 6 months even though the salesman said it could be used for jogging.
