Bought the treadmill online. I love the folding feature. This treadmill is a space saving design, yet doesn't compromise on stability. I could not believe how stable and quiet the treadmill is. I run 3-4 miles per day for 5 months and I haven't had any problems. The 277 is heavy, but very easy to assemble. I recommend this treadmill to people who have space concerns but require quality products. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: True, Bodyguard, Pacemaster, Vision |

I bought a Spirit Treadmill a few years ago. I wanted something better than the usual home treadmill but did not feel that I wanted to spend the amount required to buy a commercial grade treadmill like a Trotter or a commercial Precor. After checking around I bought a Spirit SR275, which I think is the predessor model to the Spirit SR 277. It wasn't cheap, costing almost $2000. What a mistake! The unit is rather crudely manufactured, has a very poor design for the safety switch and a rather primitive control and readout panel. However the biggest problem with this unit is that it EATS treadmill belts. So far I have had two belts wrinkle, fold over itself, then rip right down the middle. Each belt costs $250! Finally, my local dealer and the company itself have a non-existant customer service policy. Despite repeated attempts to contact Sprit Treadmills about my problem I have not been able to get even a simple acknowledgement of my letters. My advice is to stay away from Spirit and spend the extra money to get a quality unit along with a company that stands behind its products, like Precor, Trotter or LifeFitness.
