Strength:

It has a great edge hold on ice but is a little to wide for the bump. The width of the ski is great for ploughing through all crud and floating on powder.San Clemente Concrete Pros

Weakness:

Nothing to complain about.

K2 Mod X (2000 model) This was a great performing ski. I am an expert skier in all conditions. However, the ski base wore out after about 70 plus days. The glue line and spruce core are showing through the base. My ski partner has the same ski--same condition. We are not happy!! Over the years I had heard rumblings about how K2 skis give short ski service. But after demoeing them, I decided to buy them. They were made in the USA and that help convince me also. Not any more! K2 has moved to China and they have moved from my buy list. I'm returning to Volkl. My first Volkls lasted me 10 years.

Wow, great ski! Spent time on Salomon Xscream-9''s (187cm) and really though the ski performed well on groomers, bumps, and powder until I rented the K2 Axis (188cm). The K2 Axis is an awesome all-mountain ski for an advanced intermediate-expert who''s aggressive where ever they spend their time. A stable ski, it carves and holds well, turns quick in the bumps, and floats on powder. I tried the K2 Axis X but didn''t find them as quick to turn or as easy and they seemed to chatter a bit when I was getting some speed. Anyone interested in buying my Salomon Xscreams?

This ski is great for ripping up the groomers. Just ride it over the center and it does the rest for you. makes you seem great immedaitly. It has great edge hold on ice but is a little to wide for the bump. The width of the ski is great for plowing through all crud and floating on powder.
