Rossignol Bandit XX All Mountain

Rossignol Bandit XX All Mountain

DESCRIPTION

For expert skiers spending as much time off piste as on groomed runs, these have the perfect mix of edge grip for groomers and flotation for powder.. Integral Dualtec combines cap and laminate structures to create responsive energy transmission and increase edge grip under your foot. Developed to build skier confidence, Freeride VAS technology uses a visco-elastic material to absorb vibrations at high speeds and in variable terrain. The unique V-Flex shape and tapered aluminum top sheet allows the torsional flex of the ski to vary from tip to tail, for all-mountain versatility. To provide easy release in a variety of conditions, the V-shape tapers towards the tail for less torsional rigidity, making the ski more versatile.

I tried this ski along with several others at Vail and found it to be the easiest-turning ski of the bunch, especially when turning from the tips. It has a very light feel but can handle deep cut-up snow easily. My only complaint was the edge grip on hardpack was terrible. It could have been a bad or non-existent tune, so I''ll try them again soon and keep you posted.

The bandit XX is by far the best ski on the market. This ski plowed thru crud better than the 11.20''''''''s, and held ice at high speed as good as the 9.20''''''''s. This ski can go from high speed GS turns to quick SL turns at the drop of a hat. Plus because of the forward mounting position I got twice the pop when going off big hits(its also a twin tip)! These are not "poser" skis, if you are not at the expert/advanced level these skis might overpower you.

These boards are unbeleivable. I was skiing the Bandit X (1999 version) when I decided to demo the Bandit XX. I hadn''''t bought the XX initially because I didn''''t think it would handle well in the groomed snow and was more for skiers who skied almost exclusively in the deep snow. I took these all over the mountain (I was at Snowbird) and they proved to me they could handle anything I could throw at them. I just had to buy them. I had Rossignol Axial 100 bindings put on them; if you mount Rossignol bindings on a Rossignol ski apparently they will extend the warranty to two years.
