The best out of downhill runs and especially for the big turns in powder and in deep snow generally. I bought it in Chamonix with some dicount and without VAT and mounted Fritchi Diamir Titanal 3 (touring binding) on it. Bought at a low cost. Quick-turning. Awesome powder ski. Can ski groomers well if snow is soft. Probably the perfect ski if you ski tight powdery glades a lot of the time. | Elk Grove Tree Care Weakness:

Strength:
Floats in powder. Turns quick in soft snow.
Weakness:
Slow skiing and slow turning on groomed runs. Not truely all-terrain (but does okay). I did a demo of these today then I went back to the shop and bought a pair. They worked fine on the groomed trails but were a bit slow. A bit of knee work helped carve on-trail. Turning off of the groomed stuff and into the trees, These skis turned quickly in rough and uneven snow. Turning using the ski and turning using strength and body twisting both worked well since the ski is shorter than what I'm used to. This may not be an all-mountain ski but it's so fun in the rough and soft that I'll use them more than my Rossy Vipers (not comparable). |

Strength:
Powder, weight, twin-tip
Weakness:
hard-packed snow and ice Very good ski for powder and it floats very easily. You get the same feeling as a snowboard in powder. In crud it's ok. Some limit on hard-packed snow and ice. But you cannot expect too much. Try a slalom ski in powder.... Similar Products Used: Rossignol Scratch BC |

Strength:
Twintip for switch takeoffs and landings. Quick-turning. Awesome powder ski. Can ski groomers well if snow is soft. Probably the perfect ski if you ski tight powdery glades a lot of the time.
Weakness:
Twitchy at high speeds and on hardpack or ice. The soft flex gets overwhelmed in hard snow conditions. If you live for pow or spring skiing, obviously this is no problem. This is a fantastic ski in powder and soft snow. It is quick, light, forgiving and floats in powder. A great board for Western skiers. You can ski and land switch too, so there is added versatility versus a non-twintip ski. Similar Products Used: Salomon 1080 |

Strength:
Deep Snow!!!
Weakness:
Ice (or bulletproof hardpack) as they tend to be a bit soft, though they are decent in crud! Amazing Skis....Awesome in the deep stuff (very light and nimble. They are awesome in tight trees and even perform fairly well on soft groomers! Similar Products Used: Salomon AK Rocket (2003) |

These skis are sweet! I demoed the 163's at Mt. Baker two days after they got 4 feet, and I could still find pow out of the way. they just floated over it with almost no effort. This is the way skiing is supposed to be. On the groomers they went pretty fast too. I,m going to get a pair for myself now. |

Definitely not a all purpose ski but if you're looking for a powder ski, you'll have a hard time finding one that floats and turns as easily in the deep stuff. The strong points about the PR are also it's weak points depending on the snow conditions. It's likes quick short to medium radius turns, which are fun and great for the glades. But doing short turns all day long is tiring! It doesn't seem to have the stability to do high speed long arcs. It's light and nimble so it's great in the glades and park, but it tends to get kicked around alot in heavy cut up conditions. The center mount makes for a long tail and it takes some getting used to. I never felt like I could let the ski just run, it was always shaky and nervous on the hardpack and on heavy crud. However, put it in powder and whoa! It's a whole new ski. It would make a nice addition if you are looking for a fatty powder ride. But if you're looking for an all mountain do everything ski, look for something else like the bandit xx or atomic R11/10's. |

This is one of the skis that you can buy that makes you a better skier on your first day. Had 2 feet of fresh stuff, they did waht they were suposed to. Excelent in deep dry snow. Tight trees with a few inches of fresh on top of untracked settled snow, They were almost unbelivable! The ski makes you feel invinsable, a very powerful feeling ski. I was suprised at how well it did on the grommed runs. Held its own very well. Similar Products Used: Nothing like it |
