Line Mothership Freestyle Twin Tip

Line Mothership Freestyle Twin Tip

DESCRIPTION

Powder magazine calls, "Hey Jay, we'd like to invite Skogen to join us on a Heli-trip in Alaska next month." I say, "Sure". Then we realize that Skogen would be forced to ride one of our competitor's super heavy, non twin tip powder skis tagged with the word "extreme" and ugly neon graphics. That was all the incentive we needed to release our top secret aircraft out of its Area 51 hanger. You probably spotted Skogen flying these unidentified flying objects on the cover of Powder and in the article "Skiing's Future". Well now the fattest, lightest, most agile, all-terrain powder twin tip ski on the planet is awaiting your command.

  • size: 182 cm

  • tip/tail height: 55/55
  • running surface: 150 cm

  • sidecut: 21m

The Mothership is one of the best skis I've ever owned. Opt for the 192cm ski and it features an additional layer of titanal and also less tail kick for a longer running surface and better freeride ability. It's rather soft in longitudinal flex (which I like) but it nevertheless holds a rail well on groomers. Obviously it's got plenty of float in deeper snow. Just about the only thing that upsets it is refrozen mank/death cookies but very few skis as light as the Moship can handle these sort of conditions. It's got a very tight turn radius for a fat ski which means that if you're looking for a ski to harvest pow stashes in glades and trees, the Mothership is a good call. The bases seem pretty durable although I've had to have a cap lift repaired after ten days on the hill which will mean a return under warranty. The topsheet is a lot more durable than my old K2 AK Launchers.

Nice guys at Snow and Rock but I get the impression only a select handful know what they're actually talkking about.
