KALBO
Intermediate
Strength:
Price, looks, and Comfort (doesn''t get hot, just right).
Weakness:
A little heavy, but manageable. Rare, if you find it buy it! They go quick! The review is based on the 02 Freeride Plus. Very cheap and does its job very well! It''s not as techy as the expensive helmets but who cares as long as it protects the good ole'' coconut! Even without any vent wholes, this helmet doesn''t seem to get hot. If you find one that you like and it fits, buy before someone else does! These helmets ten to fly off the shelf faster than the store can restock it! Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Keeps head warm and I normally don''t need balaclava except on really cold days. Takes the impact on hard falls and I''m able to get right back up (I''ve had about 3 concusion level head bangs with this helmet and am able to get right back up with any cranial damage). I can''t believe all the fools out on the slope boarding who don''t wear helmets because they think beanies look cool and helmets don''t. To them I say, "It''s not how you look, it''s how you perform." and it''s pretty damn hard to perform with a cracked skull and you look pretty damn foolish getting taken down the mountain on strapped into a rescue body board.
Weakness:
Chin strap bugs me occasionally. The goggles stay on the helmet but there''s no place for them to rest in the front when taken off the face and tends to fall behind head and straps get twisted. Does the job, keeps my head warm, nice strap to keep goggles on (never been lost). Just like riding in a car and putting on my seat belt, I never strap into a snow board without it on my head (and I know of at several occasions I would have been knocked senseless by a tree or hard pack ice in wipe outs). Strength:
It looks cool and you can use it for skateboarding and biking in the off season. Very Comfortable. It also keeps your head and ears warm.
Weakness:
I had a bad high-speed crash with 3 broken ribs, a busted up right arm, a broken hip, and a concussion. The helmet needs more protection like Leedom brands. I was sceptical at first, but I have many avoided head injuries to thank from this helmet. Similar Products Used: none |

Strength:
Durablity, looks, versatlity, price
Weakness:
If it gets to cold out you might need to wear a small beanie on your head. Great buy, almost half the cost of all the other helmets I look at. Ear flaps help you keep warm in the winter, but you can remove then when the sun comes out. Its also more durable than other helmets on the market. Similar Products Used: Giro, Skycap, Beori |
