I disagree with most of the reviews here. I am used to Langes being cut for narrow feet but these are an exception. My son has a wide toe box, he wears New Balance EE and Sperry topsider Wides. When you have a wide foot, it's important to wear a relatively thin but warm ski sock. He found the 285s quite comfortable when he was a size 9.5 and 10. The 285 converts to a size 10.5, but I think they are half a size smaller.

Meant for VERY narrow feet. These fit fine in the shop, but as soon as I start skiing in them my feet are in agony. They pinch the arches and I can barely get more than 2 runs in them. If you buy these, make sure they are VERY spacious for your foot, else you will be in pain. |

Strength:
Excellent control Very confortable Affordable
Weakness:
Designed for thin foot people, your salesman should recognize the difference,of a wide or thin foot.Thin-Lange--Wide-Solomon When you go to the ski shop to pick out your boots ask yourself do I have a thin foot or a wide foot. They are designed for thin feet. They perform excellently on the slopes as they cup your whole foot and tranfer instant control.afforbable value. these boots will rocket you to the D.BL.D in no time. |

Strength:
Comfort if they fit. Ease of Walking Reasonable flex
Weakness:
Toe buckle lacks adjustment range Could use a wider cuff strap I have skiied these boots for a couple of seasons now. Great boot for the graduating intermediate skiing single to double blacks on occasion. Has the classic Lange fit though. Great for me, but not for everyone. Wear them in the store for 30 minutes before buying. Similar Products Used: Alpina Dalbello |

Strength:
Custom heat fit insole is nice. Micro adjustments. Good intermediate boot with ok level of flex.
Weakness:
Insole is garbage (but most ski boots are that way) Boot is cut very narrow. For it to fit my foot it was too narrow on my ankle. I also had to practically jump up and down to get them on at the slope. I almost didn't get them on..although they slid on fine in the store. I really tried to like these boots. Its hard when you get a good deal on a new pair you really want to like it. But alas, extreme pain was the result. Think sharp spikes pushing on your anke bone here. The boot felt fine until I hit my first black run of the day..then pain pain pain. After 2 runs of that..I was done for the day basically(which is unusual for me) I have a high arch/instep and a Med width foot. So actually its unusual that a Lang would fit. I guess in the end it really didn't. After skiing in them for a day you could tell from looking at the lining that around my ankle bone area it was packed all the way out. So if its a problem for you then I suggest to stay far away from these and perhaps look at Soloman. I would say if you notice pressure on your ankle bones in the store (even a little) try on something else. When I tried them on I noticed it a little, then put in my insoles and that seemed to take care of it. Once on the slopes and I started to put some stress on the boot there just wasn't enough give between my ankle and the boot. That and of course the boot (since its cold) is a lot stiffer..etc. I returned them and sucked it up and ended up with a pair of Soloman xwave8 and are just a great fit. It cost a lot more since its this years model and its a little more advanced boot but my feet are worth it. So I would say its a great deal if it fits you. Strength:
Nice when it works (which is rare)
Weakness:
sole slides out too easily buckles freeze can get cold no support or cushion for jumping Surprisingly I did not enjoy this boot. It made my foot cold occaionally, it was narrow, and the soles came undone and i ended up skiing with my toes in the lining/shell of the boot. i skied it in new york, pennsylvania, colorado, and utah and almost everywhere i went i had a problem. On the rare occasion that i was pleased, it was ok but very hard and unforgiving when jumping. |

Strength:
Narrow heel pocket allows for more control. Nice looking. Comfortable when skiing and walking. Relatively inexpensive
Weakness:
Narrow heel pocket, may be constricting for skiers with wide feet. This is a great boot. Extremely comfortable and it gives the wearer ultimate control on the slopes because of the narrow heel pocket. It should be a close fit because it will be much too tight for those with wide feet. I personally found this to be one of the most comfortable boots under $300. |

This is an awesome boot!! I love every minute of skiing with them! Performs like an expensive boot while skiing, but is really comfortable while walking! My only complaint is you have to get exact size. Even if it''s just a little too big, the performance on the slopes is decreased. Similar Products Used: Other Lange Boots |
