I have an older (three buckle) version of this boot and find it to be an excellent boot for the backcountry skiier who travels uphill for the joy of going down. It is a bit heavier than some of the competition, but I think that the general sturdiness is worth the compromise. The only change I would make to the boot if it were mine alone to design is that I would build in more forward lean in the ski mode. This issue may be addressed in the current model.
