Strength:

The frame design works well for speed hiking and running. My wife and I, though, concrete patio find the binding design somewhat cumbersome. The toe lacing requires a lot of adjustment when putting the shoes on and taking them off. The heel strap becomes stiff in cold weather and is difficult to tighten adequately.

Weakness:

None so far

Being introduced into this sport this winter by a good friend of mine, I never thought snowshoeing to be such a fun sport. I rented some shoes for the first few times just to get the feeling of what I wanted. Finally, I saw a pair of RedFeather Redtails on auction and quickly I bidded on it. When I got them and put them on, they are much better than the rental Atlas 1222 shoes, though the binding system definitely was a few years behind on what's available now. I have done mostly local trails on wet, dry and powder and the shoes performed very well. Once, the binding came loose and off came my foot. The next step without the shoe sunk my foot at least 6 inches deep. Yikes.. I didn't realize the shoes were that good at floatation. Climbing steep hills is a chore combined with a pair of my Black Diamond Flicklocks poles. No slipping that I can feel. Each step was firm and the talons do bite well into the ice though with a bit of effort cause I have to kick them in with my toes. Other than that, they are great for more first snow shoes.

Customer Service

None to speak off. Never needed them..

A great pair of snowshoes. Sturdy, light and well designed. The crampons make climbing up and down snowy hills no problem.

Customer Service

Very friendly and helpful. You get to talk to a real person

The redfeather works well for me. I snowshoe around the Summit County area and on relatively easy terrain. I like the retention straps and find my shoe remains comfortably attached throughout my hike. I normally wear Hi-Tec hiking boots with gators. The lateral movement of the retention straps is somewhat sloppy but it is only a hindrance when trying to run in deep powder. Otherwise, an excellent snowshoe.

Great running snowshoes! I tried them at the Mt. Taylor Quadrathalon and they simply worked great. Much better than the Tubbs Sierra that I have also used.

I like these for general hiking, and trail running but find they don't have a good enough platform in deep powder. The binding design could be easier, and straps get stiff when it's really cold out. A little on the pricey side, but overall a decent shoe for snow with a little crust on it.

I like these snow shoes because they are small and pretty light. They are easy to walk in and strap nicely to a daypack when not in use. They sink a bit when hiking in deep or really dry powder but that's what you'd expect from a small shoe. The straps look to me like they might not retain a boot very well but I haven't had any problems with them.

I used these snowshoes on a nice packed jog, and they were very fun. I hardly noticed them, until I tried jogging without them, at which point I fell through. They are lightweight, good looking shoes, not the best binding in the world, but very fast to use, which is why they were probably used. once they were adjusted properly, they didn't come out of adjustment, and were very fast shoes. I used a pair that I borrowed from a not-for-profit group with whom I go on trips, Appalacian Mountain Teen Project, AMTP, based in Wolfeboro, NH, and plan to buy a pair of my own for next year. I'm broke now, so I need to save up.
