These bindings are all right, especially for the price. They give good support and they feel, well a little loose, but you know how it is.

Strength:

gel strap, thats it!

Weakness:

the rest of the binding, crap plastic. low level of adjustability.

I am done with burton. These bindings are an entry level product at that. I can't believe that burton makes cheaper bindings. These ones lack support and durability. I thought that the gel pads were comfortable, but I could never get them tight enough and the fabric was always tearing away near the ratchets. After my heel cups broke, not even on a trick, I was tightening my ankle strap! I switched to greener pastures and have never looked back. If you have to get burton then brake the pig and go for the mission greed, or P1 md. Better yet go for Ride, even there cheapest bindings are top quality. My bet get the rolls and dish out for some drakes, LTD or podium you won't be dissapointed, only broke.

Strength:

They look good, wook good, and best of all, for the 160ish, you cant get anything better.

Weakness:

None at this point. Normal wear is expected like paint run off etc...

I bought these for my weekly riding. I've been snowboarding for over 5 years, and Burton is a name I trust. For over 5 years, my bindings and my board has beeen solid. I've never had any problems with any of their products. I've lost screws here and there, but thats it. This year, I treated myself to some newer gear, and burton was the only items i was looking for. The customs bindings are an excellent choice in price, performance and appearance.

The 2003 custom binding is one of the better bindings in its class. It is light and very durable. The decals come off the binding ratchet but rather than that they look cool. It is great for freestyle and comparativly good for just freeriding. It fits people with large feet well. Make sure to get boots that fit the binding. They can be rather expensive but if you want a binding to last it is the way to go.

Strength:

Easily adjustable forward lean, easily adjustable straps (its possible to do it right on the hill now, but you should tighten them with a screwdriver afterwords anyways) . Adjustable highback angles. Equipment stays tight.. I haven't had any problems with any loose screws, or missing pieces. 1 year warranty.

Weakness:

Decals tend to come off, on crappy snow days the ratchet doesn't catch the teeth on teh strap as well. With any plastic ratchet, be careful, dont' treat them like crap.. and you'll be fine. If you don't get boots that fit the binding, the toe strap tends to be a nuisance, as you can't tighten it all the way.

Have had these bindings for awhile now.. sometimes the top strap tends to get stuck, not often though. During higher temperatures, when the snow is sloppy, they ratchets tend to slip, and not catch the teeth, but this is fixxed iwth a quick dry.. and nothing that is a big problem. Decals do tend to come off fairly easily, however, if you own these bindings just because they look pretty, you shouldn't own them anyways. A decent price for a farely well constructed binding. Make sure you get boots that fit this binding!! If you're losing pieces on the first day out, you should check your equipment before you ride. Because most likely it was a screw that wasn't tightened properly.. and thats just as much your fault, as any others.

Weakness:

Quality of materials Comfort Softness

Overall,i was not impressed with this binding. I wasn't looking to spend alot of money so i went with the custom, rather than a higher end binding for one season. Comfort was a problem right off the bat, the straps were not comfortable an dug into my boot and foot and caused cramping. Also, both upper ratchets broke within the year, and a strap snapped in half. Performance wasn't terrible, however i wanted something stiffer, so this year i bought the CFX's. Hopefully these will work out better.

These bindings are great, great stiffness, and easy to adjust straps without tools. They worl well with the burton costom I'm riding and the burton ruler boots I'm wearing. Over all a great ride for the money.

the customs are great bindings. the highback stiffness and height are perfect and fit quite nicely wit my burton slys from last year. The ratchets are easy to crank down and release. the gel in the ankle strap offers great comfort and support. they even come with optional toe ramps. they are quite responsive for a plastic binding.
