Super comfortable and stiff. I've had the bindings on my Palmer Honeycomb for a couple of seasons and I love them. Great for high speed bombing——with loads of support—— and not to shabby for the park and messing around in the back country either. They are heavy which is noticeable when trying to through the board around, but the great range of adjustment makes up for it (especially on light board). Basically the most reliable, comfortable, straight-up functional binding I've ridden.

I have had drake matrix for about 4 seasons now. They are bombproof and very responsive, but like most said they are also a little on the heavy side.
Customer Service Great - local store almost always the best option Similar Products Used: Wild Duck, Salomon SP4, Burton. |

wow, these bindings are great. this is actually my first board, and bindings, (never summer legend, 163) and the bindings are sweet. i dont happen to notice the heaviness of the bindings, cuz the board itself weighs a ton, and i weigh 135, so the board is not really meant for me. i like the bindings, because they are really easy to use. it takes a flash to get my boot all strapped in and out. the only thing i think they need is a suitable place to put my leash, because my leash is short. and yea, the gas pedal things make it a little difficult to get at the screws, but its nice, because theres no toe drag. i'm glad i have these bindings, and because i'm a begginer, i dont think these will break anytime soon, yea.... |

New Zealand pricing above: Have rode this binding for about 3 weeks up the mountain. They are heavier than most..however they are made of steel and not crap plastic so ya know they are tough!! They are very comfortable and have a foot deck which not only gives you some more height off the board for added leverage in your turns and responsivnes under ya foot but for people like myself with big feet = no more toe drag!! Wiked binding i recommend!! |

I don't know what Cranky Boarder is talking about. I ride these bindings and totally love them. In response to the previous review I'll use number points: 1. Very stiff. The torque and response you can get from these babies is awesome. Never had anything but good sure-footed feelings. 2. The screws do not come loose any more than any other binding. Checking your gear before you go out (which one should do) will eliminate any such worries. 3. They are certainly heavier than most bindings, but it is because they are made of steel and are extremely rigid and next to IMPOSSIBLE to break. 4. The extra gas pedal thing is a bonus! It allows you to precisely tweak the lateral position of your foot accross your board no matter what the rotation of your bindings. 5. They are super comfy like Flow bindings and the ankle strap, wide as it is has not folded or kinked. I have ridden about 60 days on these bindings and the ankle strap is still firm and tight. 6. Ankle (or toe) ratchet straps have NEVER come undone spontaneously. 7. They fit my Northwave boots very well! These are very good bindings and worth the price - unless perhaps you are concerned about shaving weight off your rig. |

DO NOT BUY THESE BINDINGS. They are the most pathetic excuse for a binding I have ever ridden. I've had so many problems with these bindings I'll make a list: 1.Handling. They feel nice and stiff at low speed but as soon as you really push em in a big turn or at higher speed they just give out and feel like your feet are stuck to the board with sloppy poo. I actually got something like speed wobbles on them. 2.Bad engineering. The screws come loose all the time which in itself is not such a big problem, you just tighten them up. Easier said than done when the nutserts are seated in the soft plastic of the highback. When you try to tighten them they just spin in the plastic. Some loctite kinda fixed it but I could never get them tightened properly. 3. They are actually really heavy. These are the first bindings I've ever used where I was aware of their extra weight on my feet. 4.THey have this stupid gas pedal thing that covers the baseplate screws making them hard to get to if you want to adjust or swap bindings.. I have one set of bindings I swap between three decks depending on the conditions so it was a real pain in the bum. 5.The nice wide ankle stap looks like it'll be comfy but it's just another drake gimick. After a few rides the rubber softens and the strap folds into a crease on your ankle and is far from comfy. 6. The ankle strap ratchets pop out and release at random. This is just dangerous. It happened to me several times. Twice just sitting on the lifts. Drake only make bindings, It's all they do so expected them to do a good job. And the matrix are up at the top end of their range. I find it absolutely amazing that they can get away with putting such a crap product on the market. Very, Very angry and dissapointed. I will never again buy a drake product and these bindings have been so bad I make point of telling everyone I know how bad they were so they don't make waste their money and time in the snow on bad gear.
